SHAME AND SORROW

As the Iraqi insurgency intensified in early 2004, an elite Special Operations forces unit converted one of Saddam Hussein's former military bases near Baghdad into a top-secret detention center. There, American soldiers made one of the former Iraqi government's torture chambers into their own interrogation cell. They named it the Black Room. Here, prisoners were beaten and shot with paint pellets.

Ever feel like you went to bed and woke up in Bush's America - an entirely new country where there are no rules? The revelations keep getting worse, and yet, no one takes responsibility at the highest levels of government. There is no sense of morality or personal responsibility. This administration has disgraced this nation and filled us with international shame ans sorrow. And, the bad news is, the nightmare will last for almost three more years.
