Shove gay rights superhero Mike Rogers in pink tights, a cape and give him a big "O" on his chest for outing, as he has done it once again. In a phone call recorded for his website PageOneQ, Rogers has unmasked one of the most spetacular self-loathing disgraces in America.
Sit down, because this isn't fiction, although it certainly could be. According to Roger's investigation, Robert Traynham, Director of Communications for United States Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) has said he is an out gay man who completely supports the Senator.
However, at a 2003 forum he didn't appear to be out as he said onstage when asked about gays in the Republican Party, "I have a lot of friends who happen to be gay." He did not specify whether these friends were sleeping with him.
Incredibly, Traynham, who is black, also supports the GOP exploiting raw emotions surrounding the flying of the Red Neck flag in the South if it will bring votes.
"Those who are romantic about the Confederate flag, that's our base. We need their support; this upcoming election is going to be close," Traynham once said.
When Rogers asked how a gay man could speak for one of the nation's most notorious homophobes, Traynham protested that has "been with the Senator for eight years." Traynham went on to say "Senator Santorum is a man of principle, he is a man who sticks up for what he believes in, I strongly do support Senator Santorum." Unfortunately, Santorum stands for the principle that abolishing sodomy laws will lead to "man on dog" sex. Why a gay man would support such a principle remains unclear.
What I find interesting is that just the other day Santorum was criticizing the city of Boston for supporting gay people and having a liberal climate that supposedly caused perversion. Yet, it turns out his office is the very example of Sodom he had condemned.
There is also word, from Rex Wockner's list, that the sell out is more than just Santorum's mouthpiece. He is also Deputy Chief of Staff to Santorum and, perhaps more importantly, Director of Communications for the Senate Republican Conference. This means Traynham has certainly helped in GOP message and delivery that has likely included homophobic talking points for GOP members of the Senate.
How very sick. How very sad. Would someone call the shrink for this poor fellow? He is obviously very conflicted and has more issues than a New York magazine stand. Let us hope that he finds some self respect in the near future and spends his remaining days working to undo the damage he has clearly done. But, his first step might be finding a conscience.

This does not surprise me. He is one of many, but I wonder what Santorum thinks of him, or better yet, will he ask him to resign since his lifestyle is in direct conflict with Santorum's distorted view of the world? Lets see how the bigot Santorum reacts to this! Its obvious that his aide is just another self-loathing gay basher if he supports Santorum's principles. Its nothing new though, is it? There are also many bisexuals, probably more who behave in much the same way as this idiot.

Rick Sanatarium probably already knows, but like the rest of the hypocritical neo-cons, they're only too happy to look the other way if they can USE you and you're dumb enough to let yourself be used by them!! These jerks remind me of the Jews who helped the nazis capture fellow Jews in order to save their own skins. Of course if Hitler had won, they would have been the last ones into the ovens.

What a sad, sad man he must be. I could almost feel sorry for him if the results of his self loathing were not so destructive not only to the equal rights movement but to all gay people in general!
In the...oh Gods...how long HAS it been since I came out? Let me see, divide 3 by 20... carry the 5 over there, add that to the remanent of last Christmas's fruit cake, carry the 6 to the other side of the room and divide the whole mess by the square root of Afganistan and that gives you... oh shoot! Lost my place! Let's just say it's over 20 years but less than 30... So, in the that-many-years since I came out I have never understood how anyone can be LGBTQ (RSTUV? It's getting to be alphabet soup!) and be so self loathing that you would actually actively work against your own self interests. I hope I never do understand that either, I doubt my hold on sanity could withstand that assault.
Robert, I don't know why you're bashing bisexuals. We don't like evil hypocrites any better than you do.

mr. traynham is a young government employee, but he lives in a home that is valued at $900,000.....working for the repugs has been good for him.....wonder what his bf smith does? does he too work for the neo-nazi-cons?
