A 14-year-old student, according to the Associated Press, was expelled on Thursday from California's Ontario Christian School because her parents are lesbians.
"Your family does not meet the policies of admission," Superintendent Leonard Stob wrote to Tina Clark, the girls biological mother.
Stob wrote that school policy requires that at least one parent may not engage in practices "immoral or inconsistent with a positive Christian life style, such as cohabitating without marriage or in a homosexual relationship," The Los Angeles Times reported in Friday's edition.
This is perhaps the most disgusting story I have blogged on in a long time. What this "Christian" school did was try to humuliate a young girl and drive a wedge between she and her parents. So much for the Bible commanding that we honor thy father and thy mother. I wasn't aware that there was an exemption for lesbian parents. This school is mean-spirited and a disgrace.

What you say is true Wayne, but why would two dykes send their daughter to a 'christian' school?! What did they think would happen when the christapo found out!? Maybe they banged their heads on a submerged rock while kayaking. Gary (NJ)

This is indeed a most-disgusting act. As society continues to evolve and becomes more enlightened about gays and lesbians, the homophobic actions of extremist Christians will indeed come to be seen as more and more absurd.
Even now, mainstream society is slowly moving away from them and their foolishness. One day, they will either have to change or they will find themselves all alone.
Expelling a girl because she has lesbian parents is downright despicable, but this action unmasks them (as their behaviors often do). It will serve to show others what gay people have known all along, which is that right-wing Christians are the biggets bunch of hypocrites and brainwashed phonies currently living on planet earth, a planet which would, incidentally, be much better off without them.

The catholic church pulled a similar stunt this spring in Quebec Canada when they issued a statement refusing to baptize children of same sex parents. Churches or institutions affiliated with a church have no business turning a fellow human being away, regardless of what their supposed policies say about that person. That goes against everything "christian" and is frowned upon in many sections of the bible. Unfortunately, it is only those sections of the bible that suit political aspirations that are given attention. Others, go ignored continuously. To treat a child in this manner and reject him or her is heinous and unforgiveable and is very abusive. That being said, there are schools that treat human beings like human beings and the couple would be advised to place their child in a better environment than these pathetic excuses for human beings could provide. Shame on these "christians". Tim W.

That just shows what fucked up hypocrites they are. Why would they deny a BABY having its soul saved (their belief, NOT mine) just because he/she has gay parents. How childish and rotten can you be! As an aside, when the first 'test tube' babies were being born (Louise Brown etc) there some elements in the church that said they didnt have souls! What century are these clowns living in? I believe even animals have souls, or they wouldnt be alive!! Gary NJ

I personally dont believe in religion i believe in a relationship with my Jesus that is what christianity is not rules and regulations and not punishments for the most trivial things, this poor girl who has been outcast because of her 'mothers'choice of lifestyle, only question i would have with this is surely these women knew that the school being christian firmly believes in what the bible says about this type of behaviour however i do not see how that had anything to do with the young girl
