Beverly A. Grubb said she went to a Brentwood, Tenn. therapist to be cured of homosexuality but instead ended up in an intimate relationship with the therapist.
Grubb, 59, is now suing her former therapist-turned-domestic-partner and TrueHope for the Best Alternative, the Brentwood counseling center she went to for treatment.
This is the latest example of "ex-gay" fraud and predatory behavior. These groups have a zero percent success rate and victimize innocent people who are told they need to change or they are going to Hell. Take a look at this lawsuit. It is the future of the "ex-gay" ministries. I beleive that more people are going to come forward and talk about the awful abuse at the hands of these sham groups. At some point, they will be rightfully sued out of existence for fraud and malpractice.

These are con artists who should be put under. Sue the pricks!
I hope she sues them out of existence! Fostering hate underneath the veil of a 'cure.' It's inhumane.

I would advise following this case further before making rash statements. TrueHope ministers to men and women with unwanted same-sex attractions and those wishing to leave the gay lifestyle. They do not advertise that they cure homosexuality. Ultimately they have a Christ-based spiritual message that believes God simply commands us to be Holy. Therefore, believing homosexual activity to be wrong they would advocate leaving the lifestyle, however, I would not at all classify them in the camp of "hard line" ex-gay advocates (fundamentalist "turn or burn" theology). TrueHope is all about love and understanding. These observations come from personal experience with TrueHope. Also based on my experience (as I know both counselor and supposed victim) I doubt that there is any validity at all to the lawsuit.
