According to The Washington Post, five of eight top Federal Emergency Management Agency officials came to their posts with virtually no experience in handling disasters and now lead an agency whose ranks of seasoned crisis managers have thinned dramatically since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
FEMA's top three leaders -- Director Michael D. Brown, Chief of Staff Patrick J. Rhode and Deputy Chief of Staff Brooks D. Altshuler -- arrived with ties to President Bush's 2000 campaign or to the White House advance operation, according to the agency. Two other senior operational jobs are filled by a former Republican lieutenant governor of Nebraska and a U.S. Chamber of Commerce official who was once a political operative.
Welcome to Bush's Faith Based World. I suppose they were going to get in a circle and try to pray away the hurricane, since they had no other expertise. What a disgrace and embarrassment. I wonder if anyone will resign, or will they all get promoted by Bush?

It is very interesting how all those "don't trash Bush" crying babies that were always responding to different posts and even supporting the war in Irak, are all of the sudden quiet. It is confirmed now, they are ignorant idiots! How sad it is to see that, while a minority in the blue states could think about how re-electing Bush was a disaster waiting to happen, a lot of people in other parts of the country felt "safe" under the current administration. I do not wish harm upn anyone, but part of the responsability of what is happening should be place on all those who re-elected the texas hog!

Maybe he should get the hasty pudding prize. Poor little Laura, she's disgusted that people are pointing fingers at him, and notice how all of the fundies are silent, not one of them has taken a stand, scum that they are. Bush undoubtedly has to be the most inept, incompetent, bungling idiot of the 21st century, but a competent hate monger at that.
Exactly, and to show how out of touch these bozos are, did any of you hear the press confrence that Laura Bush gave the other day; TWICE in 2 different sentences, she said Hurricane Kareena!!!! Well what can you expect since it is they, the republicans, who brought about the dumbing down of America and it took an even dumber electorate to elect, oops..select him the first time around, but twice? My gut feeling is that they will re-elect another republican again since the majority of them support that illegal war and oppose full civil rights for gays and lesbians. Makes you wonder why we're paying taxes, or maybe they think we don't, or maybe they need to be reminded about that.
