Senator Sam Brownback (R-Kan.) held a hearing on a proposed amendment to the U.S. Constitution to ban gay marriage, saying swift approval by Congress and the states was needed to protect the country from "judicially imposed same-sex marriage."
The sky is falling for the GOP and they have turned to "Old Faithful" to bail them out -- gay bashing. What does it say about a political party that can only rally people by finding scapegoats? Republicans ought to be ashamed of the party's treatment of gay people - 25 percent of whom voted for Bush. I guess it is easier to go after gays than enact a positive, coherent agenda that lifts middle class Americans and moves the nation forward.

They don't WANT to uplift the middle class. They want to erode it so that all the wealth will go to their corporate "friends."
How can America be so far behind on the issue of Gay Rights!? I never thought for a moment that Roman Catholic Spain would be so far ahead of the US on the issue of Gay Marriage.

Historically speaking ... history is repeating itself ... Christians gained so much power and control that our government outlawed Alcohol via the Temperance Movement.
I want to believe that the pendulum will once again favor tolerance and liberal thinking ... but how far will we allow it go?
How very pathetic that a government would smear its own citizens just to gain public support. Shows what a group of low-life scum the US government truly is. How shameful that they continue to scapegoat a minority. Brownback needs to be removed from office quickly. Hopefully, he is somehow connected to the crimnal conspiracy in the whitehouse and a few indictments can be brought against the racist, homphobic prick.
