"The Hammer" finally got nailed for his corruption and sleazy behavior that has degraded Congress and the general state of politics and morality in America. Today, Rep. Tom DeLay turned himself in at the sheriff's office and was fingerprinted, photographed and released on $10,000 bail on conspiracy and money-laundering charges.
Even as he was being fingerprinted, he was pointing fingers, saying the charges are politically motivated. He will have his day in court, and I have a feeling, based on his record, that DeLay should get used to being in "The System". He is a first-rate thug who is bad for America and has done nothing to make this nation a better place.

This vile piece of shit was offered a deal to plead guilty to a misdemeanor, but he is sooo arrogant and filled with hubris, that he declined the offer and will now face more serious charges. Too bad the enslaved Asian girls in those Saipan sweatshops will probably never know that the Sith lord responsible for preventing them from being covered by USA labor laws, is now facing criminal charges and hopefully (but not likely) will do time. Off topic: I'm currently reading a book called Bush on the Couch by a psychiatrist/psycho-therapist named Justin Frank M.D. I recommend it to all readers of this blog. It's EXTREMELY alarming and even has a chapter called "The Smirk" about the sadistic element in bush's character and where it came from. He tortured frogs when he was child and when in college, would burn friends and roommates with the red hot curve in a wire coat hanger (as a "prank"). It's no wonder that he theatened to veto a recent bill unless the part in it forbidding the use of torture by the military was REMOVED! He really is a sick, evil man, whose neuroses are being played out on the world stage; not unlike a certain Austrian who died in 1945. 2008 can't get here soon enough! Gary (NJ)

$10,000 Bail? Is that all? Did they even take away his passport?
The slime turned himself in here in downtown Houston (Harris County) rather than out in Ft Bend county (where he resides) and where the press have been been camping out since Wednesday to capture his perp walk. The Sheriff is more sympathetic to him here - apparently. Under Texas law - doesn't matter what county you turn yourself into as long as you turn yourself in. For the first time I've noticed local reporting has turned the corner and has begun to be "hard" on him -- if you can their half-hearted attempts "hard".
I just hope he's ousted! Unfortunately I don't live in his district since I live inside Houston and his district is the South Western suburbs. Inside of Houston there is a very liberal intelligent crowd - unfortunately when you get into the burbs and outside of the city -- its total Bush country and the ignorance is of "biblical proportion".
Dartanyon, I saw the show and I have to say I felt frustrated. There was a young gay woman on who was having problems with her family accepting her sexuality; a young gay man who had tried several ex-gay ministries none of which worked and who is now totally happy with his gay orientation, and a piece of shit in the form of an ex-gay minister who claimed that he's been celibate for 25 years. The audience seemed to support his contention that a person CAN change his or her orientation if they really want to. Dr. Phil really didn't handle it that well. I felt frustrated when they had to end the show as the young gay man took on the minister.
Dont forget Dr P is from Texas, now matter how educated he is, he was still enculturated in the backwards bible belt. Also notice the only 'gay changers' they had on the show were "christian ministers" no REAL professional psychologist or psychiatrist was there because they know it's all bullshit. If Dr. P were true to his profession he would have pointed that out and supported our position and ONLY ours!! The rest is quackery. Gary (NJ)

Gary, I hate saying this, but the christian minister on the show looked and sounded gay to me. He admitted that he wasn't married but was leading a celibate life. He also admitted that there are temptations and in the 25 years of his socalled celibate life, I can't imagine that he's gone without sex for so long. Dr. Phil didn't have the balls to really take him on and backup that nice young openly gay man who would have had a lot to stay had there been more time. The audience was definitely for the minister's contention that gays can change. Very disappointing show to say the least. Phil is useless!
I didnt see it, but I'm not surprised at the level of ignorance in the audience. People believe what they want to believe, that's why about half of them voted for the village idiot in 04. Dr. P is afraid to rile the religious conservatives. He's from Texas and probably knows what ruthless, obnoxious assholes they are. Gary (NJ)
