Arnold Schwarzenegger seems to be in a race against President Bush to see who can become the most unpopular politician in America. Each of the four ballot measures Arnold foisted on the electorate lost decisively. In January Schwarzenegger's approval rating stood at 62 percent in the Public Policy Institute of California's poll. In the most recent PPIC poll his approval rating plummeted to 35 percent. Unfortunately for Arnold, he can't invade a foreign country to boost his ratings. Although, rumor has it he is eyeing a border fight with Mexico.

California should have looked to Minnesota's experience with Jesse Ventura. Schwarzeneggar was a celebrity populist with no experience in government who ran on attitude. Unfortunately, attitude only takes you so far in government and once he got in he found it hard to play well with others. The qualities that got him and Ventura elected are the very ones that made them bad politicians.

He thought he was going to go in there like some hot-shot terminator and start dictating to everyone. Politics aint like the movies arnie, you and the rest of the bushies have to check your 'magical thinking' at the door. Gary (NJ)

He's an ACTOR!! Who's best role was a mindless robot. Think about it, who in their right mind would not expect him to screw up?
