You've got to love "ex-gay" leader Chad Thompson. He runs the world's first ministry with a velvet rope. Turn on the disco, it's Studio 69!
In his world, God judges a man by his pecs, not his prayers. If you are too old, fat or not cool enough, it appears you can't get in his Bel Ami Bible Club. I wish someone would teach me the secret handshake (or is it milkshake) so I could join.
Why are there no girls in any of his pictures? Why are all of his friends twinks with tight bodies and angel faces? Is this a ministry for models? Inquiring minds want to know, or at least get a date.
I e-mailed the pimp daddy preacher to find out and he didn't respond. Who can blame him? Heck, if I was surrounded by so many club kid studs, I wouldn't have time to e-mail a pesky activist either. Hats off to you Chadwick. You've managed to be a darling of the Religious Right and STILL surround yourself with hot young gay boys. God does answer prayers, indeed.

He certainly does have good taste. I'll give him that. But, it doesn't look like much of a ministry. Why should he come out of the closet, when he has such a great set-up, and the right wing pays his bills?
Well, I went to Chad's website and listened to the whole of his talk at the Wisconsin College.
It's a pretty good plug all the way through for Chad's ten-Dollar book and one-Dollar booklet!
During the talk, Chad trots out every well-known reparative therapy cliche and stereotype. He generalises all along the way, while periodically claiming that he doesn't want to generalise.
Respecting his own testimony, there is the usual feeling of slipperiness, of questions unanswered. As always, the 'nitty-gritty' is left unaddressed. What was the timescale of his change of orientation? At what point in his adolescent journey into heterosexuality did he experience his first 'wet dream' involving a female? How did he feel, the first time that he dated a girl and realised he wanted desperately to gather her in his arms and hold her and love her? How quickly did he realise that he was no longer following men in the street with his gaze, but women? How many girls has he dated and for how long?
These are the kind of questions that it'd be so helpful to know the answers to, IF change of orientation is possible. That fact that such answers are NEVER to be found ANYWHERE, in ANY of the 'testimonies', bears its own witness, methinks.

C'mon Wayne, you know how "reparative therapy"(sic" works...
You've got to hang around and get huggy and kissy with guys to stop, urmm, hanging around and hugging and kissing guys. Most people would call that behaviour rather gay, but it's not -- it's (da-dah) EX-gay behaviour.
Seriously, Chad's probably still recovering from the big fat lie-a-rama he did over at exgaywatch (and Throckmorton) last month.
These so called ex-gays are really cowardly people who care more about what other people think of them then they do about the facts.
This movement will die out in the next generation as being gay is more accepted by society so that even the weak among us feels its OK to be who they are. And by then Chad will be a wrinkled up sorry man - still as gay as the day he was born.
Falwell and Dobson are old and both are Southern bigots. Who in their right mind would listen to them about the truth.
It's articles like this one that give XGW a bad name. Of all the ex-gay ministry leaders out there, Chad seems to be the most tolerant of the bunch. I clicked on the link in hopes of seeing some hot guys, but it was just a bunch of average youth-group looking guys hanging out together like they do. Live and let live.
