God's self-anointed spokesperson, Rev. Pat Robertson, has once again made an ass of himself. He warned citizens of Dover, Pennsylvania, the town that on Tuesday threw out school board members who supported creationism, that they might be victims of a natural disaster. On his bizarre show, The 700 Club, he said:
"I'd like to say to the good citizens of Dover: if there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God, you just rejected him from your city. And don't wonder why he hasn't helped you when problems begin, if they begin. I'm not saying they will, but if they do, just remember, you just voted God out of your city. And if that's the case, don't ask for his help because he might not be there."
First, I didn't know God was on the ballot. If he lost, will he get a new campaign manager in 2006? And why was he running for School Board in Dover? Surely, he would set his sights on something higher, like county commissioner.
Second, why are people still paying attention to this clown? Does the number 700 stand for the collective IQ of his 700 Club audience of 1 million Christians? It is clear that Robertson is nuts and getting nuttier, if that is possible. The next step: he's simply going to declare that he is God.
Fundamentalists want respect and bristle when people think they are ignorant and backwards. But how can people think otherwise when they follow and give piles of money to charlatans like Preachy Pat?

Nobody has ever asked him why God allowed a Hurricane to hit Virginia Beach several years ago ... according to Pat's teachings ... Hurricanes are god's way of spanking bad people.
Of course with the hellish Hurricane Season that Florida and the entire Southern US has endured this year -- Orlando and Disney still stand ... whatcha gotta say 'bout that Pat ole boy?
