Get a butterfly net and pad the walls because Iran's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is truly insane. In his latest rant, he called the Nazi Holocaust a "myth" and said Europe, the U.S. and Canada should use their own land for a Jewish state.
The West has "fabricated a myth under the name 'Massacre of the Jews,' and they hold it higher than God himself, religion itself and the prophets themselves," Iran's leader told thousands of supporters in the southeastern Sistan-Baluchestan province, in a speech aired live today on state television.
"If you say and insist it's true that you killed 6 million Jews in crematoria during World War II, then why should the Palestinians pay for that?" Ahmadinejad asked, referring to Europeans. "Our proposal is that you give a piece of your land in Europe, the U.S., Canada or Alaska. If you do that, the Iranian people will no longer protest against you."
What a nutjob! And to think Iran wants nuclear weapons. It seems to me that Ahmadinejad is inviting an Israeli or American air strike.
The sad part about this is that the Iranian people want freedom, peace and democracy. But they are held hostage by religious lunatics.
5 Comments:
They always 'forget' that "the holy land" and Jerusalem was the Jewish homeland long before Christ and Mohammed came along and Jesus was, of course, a Jew also. If anyone provides the Palestinians with their own real estate, it should be donated by their parsimonious co-religionists.

It appears we have the making of WWIII in the middle east. The arabs are not going to rest until they nuke Israel.
I'm sure the Iranian leader is crazy, but North America, the land our homes are on, belonged to someone else MUCH more recently than Jerusalen belonged to a Bibilical Jewish kingdom. Yet no suggests that we ought to carve up New York State, for example, and give it back.
The middle east's history is clear that Jews, Christians and Muslims coexisted in relative harmony until Europe decided to export its Jewish problem. Jews fought along side other Iraqis in their war for independence. Iraq's first Financial Minister was Jewish as were many politicians at that time. Europe carved up what would have been the United States of Arabia to create the current countries.

I dunno man, I can kind of see what he's saying here. Yes, it's twisted, but to declare him insane is too easy.
To my ears, he's not saying the holocaust didn't happen, he's just saying it shouldn't be his problem (or that of his people). Cold, but he's got a point.

I'm always amazed that Saudi Arabia, the wealthiest of all the Islamic states doesn't lend a helping hand to its compatriots.
As for Iran's new leader, he's just as whacky as Bush, both extremists in their own way and with much in common since both condone religious zealotry by allowing legislation to become affected by it.
