America's car industry has stalled again, as the country's second largest producer, Ford, revealed it's cutting up to 30,000 jobs. The positions will go over the next eight years as it shuts 14 of its plants in the United States and Canada.
You know, I can't think of a single middle class person I know who is doing better under Bush. This latest round of job cuts is a snapshot of Bush's entire term. The rich are getting richer, but average Americans have stagnant wages or they are losing their jobs. That's what we get for reelecting this man...

Bush has flat out ruined our country. I'm glad those redneck car makers lost there jobs. Too many of them votedfor Bush. Let them pay there bills with a slip of paper that syas: "Well at least queers Can't marry."
We have a family retail store/on-line business. I was amazed that when hurricanes Rita and Katrina hit our business actually ended up being better than a year ago. (No, we don't sell any petrochemical products that I know of, unless our hand and body lotions contain petroleum derivatives.)
We just returned from the winter gift market in Dallas, and business was very robust there as well.
I hate to hear about news like this (Atlanta, the former metro area we called "home" has in the span of a year apparently lost both its Ford and GM plants) but there are cycles in business...they'll hit us as well, too. Such cycles existed before GWB, and they'll be around after he's gone.

We didnt *elect* him Wayne. It's true that enough morons voted for him to make it possible, but both 'elections' were stolen. The first by the supreme court by way of florida and the second by voter fraud in ohio. I was so livid when he 'won' the second time that I wished he would grind america into the ground as payback to all the dumb fucks who voted for him. Unfortunately my 'curse' has come true. ps...thanks to the union, I/we just received a substantial raise. Unions are of course hated and reviled by the fascist republicans!

My heart trembles when I consider the fact that if Americans don't see the failure of Bush and religious fanatics like him, they are bound to repeat their bad choices. And if they repeat their bad choices, this great country will eventually fall.
America won't fall because of the liberals, and it won't fall because of the conservatives. It will fall in direct proportion to the amount of power held by religious fundamentalists, who are unamerican by their very nature.
Religious fanatics oppose free speech and the free exchange of ideas. Just note the Mormon who pulled Brokeback Mountain from his theatre in Salt Lake City. Obviously, he thought that he should decide what people see and hear.
Religious fanatics oppose the constitutional privilege of free association. Just note their opposition to Gay-Straight alliances in high schools.
Religious fanatics oppose equal protection under the law. Just note their actions when it comes to equality for gays and lesbians. Recall "ballot measure 9" in Oregon, a law which eventually thrown out by the Supreme Court as a violation of the equal protection clause of our great constitution.
As far back as the 1800s, they were quoting their scriptures to justify slavery. And they were a "no-call, no-show" during the civil rights movement of the 1960s. What's more, when it comes to gender equality, they dedicated themselves to keeping women "submissive" while the rest of the country was ushering in equality.
Religious fanatics oppose the separation of church and state. Hear their words. We have all heard them say, "There is no such thing as separation of church and state in the constitution" countless times.
I do think that America will eventually save itself by turning these people out. This country is just too great to allow itself to be trampled upon by the psychological misfits who are currently tracking their garbage through our nation's living room, Washington D.C. Let's not give up hope. Change is around the corner.
