Jeff Gannon, who has a column in The Washington Blade, a super - GAY, GAY, GAY - newspaper, monotonously uses his space week after week to attack "professional homosexuals." Doesn't his column make him a pro-homo?
Now he's upset that a substantial number of his readers believe he is self-loathing. Well, no shit, Jeff! If a columnist for Ebony continuously bashed black folks, people would say the same thing. Sadly, Gannon uses his pen to come to the twisted conclusion that we shouldn't fight for the freedom to marry until all gay people learn to behave and keep their shirts on at bars.
"Perhaps it would be better to direct the considerable creative energy of the gay community at solving the root causes of its own self-destructive nature and away from losing issues like gay marriage. It's hard to project a positive image to the rest of society when your self-image is so poor."
What I find sad about Gannon is he confuses gay bar culture with gay culture. He seems to think because gay people like to have a nice party on Saturday evening, they don't have rich, fulfilling lives the other six days of the week. I suggest he get his self-loathing ass out of the bars and go to a museum, movie, art gallery or buy a good book.
I'm sorry, but there is nothing more obnoxious than a professional queer like Gannon bashing gay culture, even as the Blade writer is up to his hypocritical neck in the very culture he demeans.
I don't mind that the Blade runs his column, since it confirms the cliche: "opinions are like assholes, everybody has one." But it is time Gannon gets a new shtick and expands his horizons beyond expressing his contempt for those who work for liberty and equality.

Gannon is a freak and a moron... wasn't he a prostitute, selling fantasies about soldiers? Is there anything more degrading to the immage of the gay community than a prostitute that go and preach "values" while selling off to the white house? This guy has nerve... and I am very disappointed with the Blade, since they print the "articles" from this idiot in New York too. Hey Gannon, what about keeping your panties on while in the internet!

Gannon has nerve bitching about guys taking their shirts off in a gay bar; how many times did he take his pants off in the white house? He had over 900!!! sign-ins at the white house; you cant tell me he wasnt doing lewinskis in there; probably to that troll closet case kkkarl rove, ewwwww! Also, after the scandal first broke, Bill Maher had him on his tv show; his body language and the way his eyes were darting around was clear evidence that this guy is a wack job! Gary (NJ)

Sounds like a class case of log cabin fever to me. This guy needs long term therapy and not in the ex-gay ministry either. What a scumbag! As for going down on Karl Rove, oh Gary, I think I'd rather do a woman if I had to choose.
Gannon-Gukert-Bulldog-Mary has a point. We should all follow his example and become military-exploiting prostitutes, whoring ourselves out for access to politicians. I hope the little byline about him in his articles reads "Jeff Gannon is a writer and is also available for $75 an hour, TOTAL TOP!"
This is like Paris Hilton lecturing people on sobriety or Colin Farrell writing about celibacy. It would be funny if it weren't so sad.
Having read the article you linked to, it is my opinion that he does have a point. He states it in a tasteless, hateful fashion, but you have to admit, gay culture does emphasize sex and promiscuity. I do think it is quite destructive to the younger members of the community. I understand the majority of mature gay men, such as Wayne, and those who read his blog, don't really participate in this culture, but that's no reason for them to deny its existence.

Gannon-Guckert cum Prostitute has no previous experience before his White House gig and what I find most disturbing is Chris Crain's (of Window Media Publications) continued support of this scumbucket who continues to be a paid shill for the Bush Administration.
If Gannon-Guckert had any decency he'd come clean ... he might then earn some respect from the Gay Community - but until then he is a black stain within our community and on the pages of Window Media Publications. If there is ever a Roy Cohn Award devised and handed out to Homosexuals who do harm and disservice to their community ... Gannon-Guckert deserves a nomination.
