An adviser to President Bush said Monday that Bush's photographs in the company of disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff amount to a coincidence and shouldn't be interpreted any more seriously than that.
"He doesn't have a personal relationship with him," White House counselor Dan Bartlett said of Bush and Abramoff, who recently pleaded guilty to federal charges stemming from his lobbying practices and has pledged to cooperate with government prosecutors.
Bartlett sounds quite Clintonesque with his term "personal relations." It amazes me how Abramhoff keeps winding up in photos and having lunches and trips with powerful Republicans, yet, no one claims to know him. He just mysteriously keeps popping up in the Republican photo album.
Yeah, right.

The lies and utter corruption that emanate from the Bush administration literally make my stomach churn. (Maybe I should talk to somebody about that.) I confess, my heart is contaminated with a profound disgust for these people, their actions, their ideas and their rampant hypocrisy.
Or perhaps a psychologically healthy person would be expected to recoil from them and their dastardly plan for America. Their anti-intellectualism is putrid and embarrassing.
If there were any justice in this great country, George W. Bush would be impeached and sent to prison. This man will rank as one of the "all-time" worst presidents in the history of this great nation. And we still have three years to go (sigh).

Doubt this could be any worse than convicted cocaine dealers and the likes of Yasser Arafat having their photos taken with the Clintons, sadly...

Another comment on this one: You're right, Wayne. It's like the Woody Allen character in the movie Zelig. All of a sudden, he's starting to magically appear with republicans. Hmmmm.

Abramhoff was on bush's transition team when he stole the first election in 2000--but he (bush) only met him in passing once or twice. Yeah, right. The really infuriating thing is how they insult our intelligence--daily! Gary (NJ)
