Now that we have blasted the extremists in the Middle East, we can focus on the ones at home.
For example, though the U.S. military continues to struggle to meet recruitment goals - and has lowered "moral standards" such that more than 20,000 men and women recruited in 2005 received waivers from standard Army requirements - gay and lesbian soldiers continue to be pushed out of the armed forces. Raw Story has a good report on this highly disturbing issue that threatens to undermine the U.S. Military.
Of course, this is even more reason to support The Equality Ride.

This damnable policy was founded in ignorance and bigotry. It's a cancer on the soul of this great country. I guess it just goes to show how irrational bigotry actually is. The army is worn thin, the future of the world is at stake, and they're throwing out people irrespective of the quality of their work! It really is just pitiful and assinine.

I'd like to see EVERY gay person in the US armed services leave at their earliest opportunity -- and not dinigrate themselves any longer by supporting an organization that disrespects them.

Of course you're right Regan, also, dont forget they used the native american windtalkers, as their language was the only code/language that the germans and japanese couldnt crack; all the while basically treating them like shit.

I think I read that the White House's recent budget includes money for training linguists..... If they really needed the money/linguists, they would keep those people they have already trained, not boot them out because they were gay. I am writing my congress people tonight, one, Harry Reed listens pretty well, but the other, Ensign is worthless but since I voted I am going to let him know what I think. I'd suggest we all do the same, let them know what we think.
