The judge presiding over the prosecution of an Afghan man facing death for converting from Islam to Christianity said Thursday that he would resist any interference, despite mounting international condemnation.
What a nice way to celebrate freedom. And exactly what is the difference between the Taliban and the new government?

The evangelicals only care because the guy is being persecuted for converting to Christianity. If he were converting to Buddhism or Hinduism we wouldnt here a peep out of the them. I heard on the radio this morning that DAILY, gay people are being killed execution style in Iran and now in Iraq. They're even using the internet to entrap them; make a date and get shot in the head. Of course the biblebangers and bushies probably think they're doing the world a favor. Cant you feel all that christian love and compassion-----NOT!!!!!!!!! Gary (NJ)

Gary,
As was posted here, the Iranians are behind the group which is doing any executions of GLBT people in Iraq. The very group Wayne said was doing this was based in Iran for years...the Iranians are trying to destabilize Iraq through this group and probably other entities. The Bush administration has actively denounced these efforts (and I'm guessing if we were on the ground seeing it we'd see a lot of said "group" meeting a bitter end courtesy of America's finest).
Not that Christians agree with Buddhism, but go to some conservative web sites and see how happy cons were (NOT) when the Taliban blew up some buddhist shrines in central Asia.
In the meantime we're still debating about the UAE terminal (not ports) deal when that nation is critical to our efforts in stopping the Iranian leadership of today.
And the democrats still have announced NO plan to deal with these GLBT-killing, freedom-hating, islamofascist forces.
What a time to be alive (and it's STILL a good one)...

who cares if they agree with buddhism or anything else. actually the buddha and jesus said pretty much the same things except the buddha said them about 500 years earlier. DONT go off now kurt on the diffs between buddhism and christianity--i DONT care and this thread is too far down on the list now---i wont be back. g (NJ) ps.. look at the difference between someone like the Dalai Lama who is so kind and compassionate to everyone; even the red chinese and compare him to the fascist right wing christian leaders in this country. A Buddhist monk ACTS infinately more like christ taught than any fundo christian does!!!!!!!

Gary, why the worry about this...even Wayne has spirituality links including many Christian ones, on his own web site. Wayne knows there are a lot of GLBT people who know there's something bigger than themselves in charge of things.
Just one difference between Buddha and Jesus.
Buddha (like Confucius and other Asian men before him) came to make bad people good.
