Two Men kissing in a park and a topless woman bather are featured in a film that will be shown to would-be immigrants to the Netherlands. The reactions of applicants -- including Muslims --will be examined to see whether they are able to accept the country's liberal attitudes. Muslim leaders in Holland say the film is offensive.
"It really is a provocation aimed to limit immigration. It has nothing to do with the rights of homosexuals. Even Dutch people don't want to see that," said Abdou Menebhi, the Moroccan-born director of Emcemo, an organization that helps immigrants to settle.
Yeah, right, it has nothing to do with anti-gay attitudes prevalent among many Muslims in Holland. Give me a break.
If these immigrants can't handle freedom, they don't belong in the country. Period. The Dutch government is making a wise decision to ensure only those who believe in liberty take the journey to a free land. Fire up the DVD and make sure moderates, not maniacal mullahs, enter the Netherlands.

So it's a good idea to show potential immigrants to Holland videos of men kissing and topless women? But why stop there? Why not show really hard-core, XXX porn and allow only the truly sexually liberated as immigrants? Better yet, why not just stop Muslim immigration altogether?

I am of Iranian descent and I go back in forth between the Netherlands and America frequently. I have seen cases go up of crime involving muslim men and gay men. Not only gay men, but women they feel are immoral. All the criminals involved seem to have the common idea that it is alright to beat those they deem immoral or offensive. No matter where they are. From my position, I can say that the concept of the video is a good one. To discourage those of like mind of any race or creed. If it seems to "discriminate" against one demographic.... maybe you have a guilty mind. If people want to immigrate to another country, they should expect to have to integrate with that society. Why is it that some would believe they should have the right to impose their views once they move in? This is not only a disgusting mentality to have, but obviously posing a problem. It is an act of defiance and disrespect. Why? Why move someplace that practices things that go against your belief system? Secondly, if your sensitivities are indeed that sensitive one would think you would opt for a more comfortable environment. Where you will not find yourself accidentally sitting next to two gay men kissing or half naked women. The Netherlands are the Netherlands. If you can not accept aspects of their culture, then maybe you should reconsider your CHOICE to go there. Just being human does not automatically give you the right to do whatever you like where ever you like. It doesn't work that way. I feel that the Dutch are perfectly within their rights to ask whatever they like of those seaking to immigrate. It is THEIR country! There are many, many other countries on this planet to choose from. Plain and simple.
My parents didn't come to America from Iran and beat homosexuals. Sure they would rather not witness gay men kissing, but they avert their eyes and go about their own business. They have accepted that this sort of thing is inevitable. They do not waste their energy caring about it.

I live in Sweden and I wish Sweden had the courage to introduce similar policies. But we're getting there. It's going to get that way even here sooner or later!
