Finally, the GLBT community has a likely presidential candidate that will not treat us as second class citizens. Russ Feingold, D-Wisc., has endorsed marriage equality and we should support him in the presidential primaries, if he runs.
Not only is he great on this issue, but he had the courage to attempt to censure George W. Bush. For so long, progressives have been complaining about not finding a Democrat with guts (not to mention other body parts). Well, we finally do have someone we can support. This is an excellent opportunity to show our power and influence and prove that supporting marriage equality is a wise political move that leads to electoral success.

He is only the 4th US Senator to have done it! Go Russ! Sens. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., Lincoln Chafee, R-R.I., and Ron Wyden, D-Ore., are the only other senators to express support for gay marriage.

I was just saying to a friend the other day that Feingold should run for prez, but the red states would never vote for a liberal democrat. They wouldnt vote for him even if he were a conservative republican; being Jewish is enough for them to disqualify him. ps..i think he's hot.

Russ Feingold is a candidate whose record speaks for itself. I've been writing and supporting him since he began taking a firm stand against the renewal of the Patriot Act - though I've long admired his stand on campaign finance reform and his principled stand against granting King George the power to wage war in Iraq.
Now that he has come out and is on the record in support of Gay marriage - Gay Americans everywhere should unite behind this man ... not just monetarily but wholly and completely. I've read editorials and blogs ad naseum within our community begging for someone just like Russ Feingold. He is a principled politician - he should be cloned because he is a rare species in Washington DC.
Now is the time for all good fags to come to the aid of their country!
