A website by a right-wing preacher and self-professed 'ex-gay' DL Foster has posted a picture of the executive director of Truth Wins Out, Wayne Besen, that has been modified to make Besen appear like Adolph Hitler, reports PageOneQ.
Foster's blog Perspectives In Motion, has a post dated June 10th in which Foster refers to Besen's new organization as "Wayne Besen's Final Solution." Later in the post, Foster points out that Besen is Jewish:
In the press conference, Besen (of Jewish descent) claimed that 'ex-gay' ministries could not be trusted or tolerated in our tolerant society. To back up those claims he presented evidence that 'ex-gay' leaders invariably go back to being gay. Richard Cohen, John Paulk, Michael Johnston and uhhhh those two guys who "fell in love" left their wives, got AIDS and lived happily ever after. Proof positive, he asserted that 'ex-gay' ministries were shameless snake oil salesmen.
Next time the ex-gay ministries tell you how much they love homosexuals, please remember this Hitler picture and commentary by DL Foster.
Sadly, Mr. Foster is closely tied to preacher Talbert W.Swann II, who wrote the offensive book "Closing the Closet: Testimonies of Deliverance from Homosexuality." Indeed, Foster wrote the foreword.

These miserable hateful bitches always show their true colors! BTW, does he have a right to use your photo without your permission, especially in such a slanderous way?

Very disturbing, Wayne, but not surprising. Keep up the great work you are doing. If you weren't so effective, they wouldn't be targeting you.

They do have the unsavory habit of suddenly becoming clones of Reverend Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church when their deceptive methods are challenged.
One must wonder if this good reverend was one of the loons attending that conference with Tony Perkins - and isn't Perkins the dude who got a mailing list from David Dukes back when planning to run for office in Louisiana?
If there is one thing these men of the "cloth" will fight viciously for, it's the right to make money on the persecution of others, particularly when their chosen "beliefs" originated that persecution in the first place.

By the way. . .I do think its time someone start gathering information about how much the "Religious" Right earns bashing or plying their reeducation camps for gays. It would make a fascinating story that certainly needs to be told.

I read the preacher's blog and it is so ignorant that it begs description. Obviously, people like "DL Foster" feel threatened. Could the "DL" stand for "down low", per chance?

It's interesting that someone left a comment on DL's blog asking why it was relevant to mention that Wayne is "of Jewish descent." DL responds without answering the question. He's clearly not very bright. It makes fun reading, if you have a strong stomach.

"Homophobia is like racism and anti-Semitism and other forms of bigotry in that it seeks to dehumanize a large group of people, to deny their humanity, their dignity and personhood,"
"This sets the stage for further repression and violence that spread all too easily to victimize the next minority group."
-- Coretta Scott King, the wife of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Chicago Defender, April 1, 1998
As an Exodus ministry Director, I apologize in regard to Foster's post. You have every right to think we are "hateful bitches". I'm guessing you may even attack this entry, but nevertheless, I'm embarrassed for that post and hope other directors and leaders will acknowledge this as well.

Congradulations to Paul in Houston and The Exodus Ministry Director for speaking up..I applaud you!...Very Christian of you! What with the faith being hijacked by bogus self righteous hypocritical people who have forgotten that its is by Grace we are saved thru faith, not by works lest any man should boast. You who think you are righteous and proclaim to be speaking for God grieve us all. You are helping to keep people from coming into an authentic relationship with Christ because of your judgemental and legalistic attitudes. This twisted display by a pastor is absolutely irresponsible and thoughtless. What were you thinking, DL? I'm thinking I hope the Lord convicts you and makes an impression on your heart to issue a public apology. On behalf of myself and I'm sure many others who are believers in Jesus Christ who would like to extend the same hand of love, grace and Gods peace and forgiveness that has been given to us... would be in turn extended to Wayne. Will the real Jesus Christ and his authentic followers please stand up. Common on we all know better. Enough with the evil agendas on both sides...you are rendering each other in effective. Lets meet each other in our humanity and allow God to shed His light and His love in and upon all of us. It is time to wake up and knock this childish crap off. Lets all Grow up and play nice. Let us offer sincere prayers of blessing and protection to Mr. Wayne Besen. God Bless you Wayne...and DL I hope you "get it" and are willing to DO THE RIGHT THING. We are praying for you too. If you are ex-gay and have been called to that...Hallelujah! No one should critize or judge you for what has transpired in your life...if you are gay and are at peace with that you should be afforded the same respect. Aren't you all getting tired yet? This stuff is exhausting. PEACE be with you all!

Christ must truly be weeping that such a hate-filled, anti-semitic, homophobic bigot pretends to represent Chrisitanity. -Tara

It always surprises me when I see an African American who is anti-semitic or homophobic. It seems they have short memories as it wasn't too long ago that the bible was used as justification for denying them full rights in society. You'd think they know better.
Thanks for the reminder that anti-semitism is just as alive and well as homophobia.
PS - Don't grow a moustache. You look better without one.

All Right already! Enough of the CSK jokes. Let the woman rest in peace. --DL Foster (From His Perspectives in Motion Comments Section) :>:>:>:>:>:>:>:>:>:>:>:>:>:>:>:>:>:
My first instinct after reading DL Foster's post about Wayne Besen's TWO - was to re-read some of Coretta Scott King's quotes regarding Civil Rights and GLBT Rights ... her views on this topic are well documented.
In response to DL's diatribe, I posted her quote about homophobia and anti-semitism in DL's comment section earlier in the day -- only to check back later to find that he had scrubbed my post.
I responded by reposting the same quote along with several others. DL responded with the above comment ... calling her quotes ... "jokes".
I'm not sure what to make of anyone ... especially an African-American (from Atlanta btw) who refers to Coretta Scott King's views on the subject of GLBT civil rights as "jokes".
I can say with utmost certainty that she would not be offended by me quoting her on this subject ... if anything it is in tribute to her lifelong dedication to Equality.
As far as DL's final comment - "Let her rest in peace" ... I'm fairly sure it wasn't my quoting her today that has her spinning in her grave.
NOTE: I posted as Chapeau on DL's site -- but am known here as ...
Wayne I still think you're hot--even with the Fuehrerschnurrbart! B. Queer

I'm not surprised at the tactics this lowlife DL bastard stooped to. The entire ex-gay movement is built on lies and slander and they are indeed, hateful bitches. DL and Bennett stand out as particularly deceitful. To think that vulnerable gay people fall for this brainwashing is pathetic. DL speaks for nobody else but himself. Shameful.

In keeping with some decrease in homophobia in the larger society, homophobia among African Americans has dropped considerably in recent years. I hate to be un-'pc', but this still leaves it at higher levels than the rest of the public. This is something I have both seen and experienced at first hand, and survey data seems to prove it.
As to why, speculation ranges from homosexuality being seen as a "white" perversion (this notion is popular with Black Muslims or those influenced by them), to white gays being seen as the entering wedge of gentrification in black neighborhoods, to conservative religion having such a powerful hold on the black community.
Whatever the case, white fundamentalists have always been eager to try to collect African American allies, partly to obscure the fact that many "white" churches got that way because blacks were never allowed in, and because some supported segregation or even slavery (e.g., the Southern Baptists). Also to try to set urban black and gay communities at one another's throats.
The only thing to be done is to remind African Americans of these facts, and point out that white fundamentalists do not have their best interests at heart.
