Here is Dubya, strolling speedily into a G-8 summit meeting where powerful, intent world leaders are already gathered to discuss, presumably, serious issues of the day, walking straight up to a seated German Chancellor Angela Merkel and giving her a weird, unsolicited shoulder rub from behind, before dashing to his seat. Oh yes he did.

The pictures, the video reveal all. Merkel reacts accordingly, is instantly creeped out, cringes and shrugs Bush away with a look of surprised revulsion. (Excerpt From Mark Morford's Column)

Bush never outgrew his adolescent mentality; I'm surprised he didnt snap her bra strap too. Maybe he thought she would make another roast pig for him---well we are what we eat!
Can you imagine the rightwingers if Clinton had done something so crass to a world leader? They'd still be bitching about it. The comments on the Daily Kos are particularly funny.

That jerk is just an embarrassment to our country. And I think it says a lot about his attitude toward women, that he would be that disrespectful of another head of state. I'd bet he wouldn't pull a stunt like that with a man--or maybe he would. Who knows?

This is a high-profile hint of what it's like to be an attractive female employee of George W. Bush. I'll bet he pulls the same crap with Condoleeza Rice. This man is nothing but an embarassment! He needs to be locked in a barn. Every time he opens his mouth, he makes all Americans look ignorant, and now he's harassing female heads of state . . . what's next? We don't seem to care what he does. We let him get away with murder (and yes, I'm thinking about our boys in Iraq, so I mean that literally). Where's the outcry?

Can you imagine if Bill Clinton had pulled such a stunt? The Right wing would be screaming for his head, playing the tape over and over again non-stop like the Dean Scream, and would not let it die.

What a national disgrace that the fundies voted this profane man into office as if he was God's chosen. Ufff!

Ewwwwwww!

This speaks volumes about Bush's attitude toward women, unfortunately it is the same attitude that MANY (but not all) men in this country have.

There will be excuses that "he was just being friendly and welcoming..." No. He was using his male position of power to put the little woman in her place.

I can't tell you how many male colleagues or bosses I've had try the similar things with me. I'm also willing to bet that most women have experienced this "subtle" form of sexual discrimination.

Unless I am mistaken, it is legally sexual harrassment. Any unwanted touch is grounds for sexual harrassment lawsuit.
