The Republicans only have themselves to blame for their current troubles. They looked the other way while while religious kooks took over their party. And, yes, it won them elections. But now, on a daily basis, they have to deal with the unstable rantings of the psychologically-challenged human being who believes, amongst so many other weird things, that "Adam and Eve" should be taught in science class.
And don't forget about their view on the environment, which is that we don't have to protect it because "...Jesus is coming soon". And, last but not least, their hysterical ramblings on gay marriage, that it would "destroy the earth" (James Dobson), while they, born again Christians themselves, have the highest divorce rate of any group in America.
I hope the G.O.P. enjoys their bedfellows for years to come. Without a purge of fanatical "evangelicals", the Republican party will continue to mortgage out their future in a country that is becoming more progressive each year. An old saying captures it quite nicely. "When you lie down with a whore, you get up smelling like one". The stench from Washington DC is just unbearable.

Obsessively anti-gay hate group is more like it. They have nothing to do with Jesus, and their only "advocacy" is for gays to go back to the closet.
