I apologize to my loyal readers for not posting this past week. While in Macon, attending an ex-gay conference last weekend, I began to get sick. A painful and debilitating stomach ailment developed that hospitalized me for most of this week. I am still recovering and will hopefully gain more strength as the week progresses.
Thanks to the hundreds of supporters and friends who have written me to see how I was feeling. Your love and kind words mean so much to me.
Wayne

Wayne:
I've been out the loop myself the past week and half while moving from Houston back to Atlanta.
Sorry to hear you are ill -- Rest, Get Well -- we need you healthy! ;>)
Wayne, it is clear that the fundamentalists poisoned you. Of course, it is no coincidence that it occured when you visited the sticks. I am glad you are feeling better, but in the future, bring along a taster!

You are sick from all of your lies against Jesus. The Lord is punishing you for your manyfold sins.
You should know that you should have repented. Sickness is the Lord's wrath for wickedness. REPENT now or you will not inheret the kingdom of God.
Glad you are feeling better. I was a bit concerned. Gotta watch that country fried cooking.

Joel--so if sickness is the 'Lord's punishment for wickedness" please tell me what wickedness all those bald children with cancer have committed?; not to mention the millions around the world who were born with AIDS. My amazon parrot has better critical thinking skills than you fundos do. By the way, I heard some great news yesterday, the current number of evangelicals is about 30%, the same number of kool-aid drinkers who still support bush. Research shows that teens raised in these cultic evangelical homes are leaving the church in droves and within 20 years there should only be about 4% of the population who identify as evangelical "christians"; about the same percentage of gay people. THEN we'll have an even playing-field. But who cares, by then gay marriage will be legal and we will have complete civil rights equality. The days of you hateful, ignorant totally UNchristian schmendricks are numbered. ps..what catastrophic illness will the lord afflict YOU with for reading this website?!

Wayne, sorry to hear of your illness. I hope you feel better soon.
Really? I thought the founder of your religion shot down that idea.
"As he passed by, he saw a man blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, 'Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?' Jesus answered, 'It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be made manifest in him.'" (John 9:1-3, RSV)
I suggest you hit yer "Good Book" before spouting.
My best wishes to Wayne for a swift recovery.

Wayne, speedy recovery. As for Joel, I find it rich that people like him resort to judging and condemning people when his own leader Jesus Christ said...."judge not and ye shall not be judged". As Ghandi once said of christianity..."I like your Christ, but I do not like your Christians because they are so unlike their Christ".
Wayne, get well soon. As for Joel, I strongly recommend you go to www.fallwell.com and check out the biblical references that you are supposed to believe in but probably don't practice let alone truly believe in. Maybe after referring to them, you may not be so quick to judge others, you vile hypocrite.
I missed you and your blogs. Get well and keep writing!

Wayne,
I'm glad you're out of the hospital and I hope you're completely well soon.
As for Joel, am I the only one who read that as irony? And clever, too, using "Joel" the prophet who warned of peril if the people didn't repent and playing on the stereotypes about Oklahoma.
And spewing vile followed by false compassion ("in my prayers") is a dead-on parady of the good folk who come on sites like this to warn about wickedness with glee.
I'm a Christian and my stomach gets sick and I get nausea when going into a church filled with angry people. Yuck. Whatever ails you Wayne, feel good, get some rest, laugh with some friends, and peace be with you. Take care.
