Republican Elite Can't Stomach Fanatics Either

On the Chris Matthews Show this Sunday, loud mouth blowhard Tucker Carlson told the cold truth about the relationship between religious fanatics and the Republican elite: They can't stomach the James Dobson crowd. This helps explain why Republican offices on Capitol Hill are stocked with gays like salmon on a salmon farm. Here is the transcript:

CARLSON: It goes deeper than that though. The deep truth is that the elites in the Republican Party have pure contempt for the evangelicals who put their party in power. Everybody in ...

MATTHEWS: How do you know that? How do you know that?

CARLSON: Because I know them. Because I grew up with them. Because I live with them. They live on my street. Because I live in Washington, and I know that everybody in our world has contempt for the evangelicals. And the evangelicals know that, and they're beginning to learn that their own leaders sort of look askance at them and don't share their values.

MATTHEWS: So this gay marriage issue and other issues related to the gay lifestyle are simply tools to get elected?CARLSON: That's exactly right. It's pandering to the base in the most cynical way, and the base is beginning to figure it out.

I saw that segment when it aired and my ears also perked up at Carlson's observant revelation. It makes perfect sense that the GOP would hold evangelicals in contempt. I can't imagine that powerful Republican Senators and Representatives actually ENJOY acting like bigoted religious zealots who think we're in "...the last days". I mean, this is all getting rather absurd, don't you think? There's a huge pink elephant in the GOP's room, and it's time they start facing reality.

This has been a know fact among real christians - that the gay marriage issue was just ot raise the temperature of the ignorant and get them out to vote. True evangelicals are upset with the media/political evangelicals.

The GOP plays these suckers like Paganini played the violin. Maybe the fundos will wake up now and realize that if they want the quality of their lives and the lives of their children to improve, they'd better put their homophobia aside and start voting Democratic.

Last night Keith Olberman (one of the last voices of truth on TV) spot-lighted an explosive new book called Tempting Faith by DAvid Kuo; a conservative christian who worked in the bush white house. He reveals what we who live in the real world already knew. That the republicans dont really give a rats ass about 'conservative christian family values'. They just exploit them to get elected and once in, their socially conservative (i.e. fascist theocratic) agenda was put on the back burner. Behind their backs, Bush and Rove and cronies would call Falwell, Robertson, Dodson and the rest of them names like goofy, crazy, whackos etc..
WE TOLD YOU SO! The only thing right wing republicans worship is MONEY and POWER!
It's interesting how their house of cards is tumbling down all at once! But, of course, as all good brainwashed evangelicals know--this is all just a liberal Democratic plot.
