It is absolutely sickening that George W. Bush and several other Republicans in tough reelection races are trying to use the New Jersey marriage decision to bring out right wing voters. Do these creeps care about anything other than who I have a date with tonight?
While the right has their panties in knot over gays tying the knot, nearly 100 soldiers have been killed this month in Iraq, while the President makes cosmetic and semantic changes to his failed "stay the course" policy. On his watch, North Korea is becoming a nuclear state, while Iran has begun enriching nuclear fuel. There are also concerns over the economy, energy dependence, the deficit and GOP-scandals. Yet, all this right wing crowd gets motivated about is gay relationships. No wonder why even conservatives secretly call them nuts.

Bush attacked "activist judges" yesterday. He should realize that the three judges who said that marriage licenses should be granted immediately are REPUBLICAN appointed judges! Bush is such a goofball that he doesn't even know that he's criticizing his own party. Or maybe he DOES know but realizes that the hicks won't figure it out. This is the most cynical of politics.

Anyone voting Republican must be as stupid as Karl Rove thinks they are!
Imagine! After all the tub-thumping about Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq, it turns out that both Iran and North Korea were allowed to obtain nukes on Dubya's watch. And the usual refrain: "It's Clinton's fault!" won't work anymore. There was a good article by Fred Kaplan on "Slate" pointing out that the fissile material used in the North Korean test bomb was produced during Dubya's time in office. Why this was allowed to happen is anyone's guess. Only the most malicious, I'm sure, will point out the the Korean peninsula has few if any petroleum deposits, and is located a long way from the Middle East.
Meanwhile, the Iranians have been left to reprocess nuclear fuel to any strength they want, including bomb-grade. The land area and population are several times that of Iraq; an invasion--or even aerial bombardment--are now out of the question with our military (and our economy) already stretched to the breaking point. Of course the real fun starts now that the floodgates are open. Japan, for one, must be thinking seriously now about a crash nuclear weapons program.
Congrats George! You've managed to encourage nuclear proliferation more than anyone else; except perhaps A.Q. Khan, the renegade Pakistani nuclear scientist. You've also single handedly managed to reduce the U.S. to the condition that Great Britain was in after World War II--exhausted and bled white. And yet all these boobs can talk about is 'gay, gay gay'!

I call it "dirtylegs" religion and "dirtylegs" politics. While we face serious threats to the environment and national security and suffer from genuine moral lapses, the preachers and politicians have their minds focused underneath people's clothes. It's disgusting.

Mid-term elections. Republicans might lose control. Suddenly, "Activist Judges", "Protect marriage." If I were a conspiracy theorist, I might speculate that those Republican appointed judges were right on time. But I really just think it's dumb luck. And the moronic evangels don't have the brains to realize when they are being used.

Republikkkans only have 3 fear cards in their hand, which they play repeatedly at election time--race, gays and immigrants. I had to laugh when a southern liberal called the Sam Seder talk show yesterday and said, "the only thing that scares a redneck more than a gay man in the shower is a black man goin' after a white, blond woman".
