"Pervy" fits better because it's all encompassing but "porno" has a better ring to it. I vote "pervy" because it's a better name. I'm sure "porno" will stick better, however.

I, too, am inclined to agree with emily and the other voter.... "Pervy Pete" does have a much better ring to it and seems to fit the "crime" [i'm at a loss for a better word... but that still seems fitting].... I vote "Pervy"....

I too think "Porno Pete" has stuck with him, but "Pervy Pete" is just as truthful.
But I also thought Fred Phelp's nickname "Prevaricating Pete" was pretty good too, along with their "wussy-looking" and "money-grubbing cockroach" words to describe Pete.

I would love to comment on this post and others, as well as interact with the operator and readers of this blog, but unfortunately I have had awful experiences as of late. For instance, on the blog Holy Bullies and Headless Monsters, operator Alvin McEwan has in my view used the comment moderation tool in an unreasonable, biased, seemingly arbitrary, contradictory, intellectually dishonest, and (I would argue) overall cowardly way. So I am testing the waters of blog’s that I read and would like to comment on in order to see if the type of irrational control measures and censorship I have experienced is common. If and when time allows please inform me of the standards you employ relating to comment moderation.
I'm with the first few posters. I like the sharpness of Pervy Pete but I think Porno Pete rings better. ____ Oh, and AJ, kudos for sticking with a name/moniker to be identified by.
That said, your comments about McEwan are inaccurate and out of line. He answered you, politely and thoroughly I might add, and you never responded. If you have a problem with Mr. McEwan, please take it up with him.

just to clarify a bit. i stopped posting aj's comments because they are long winded and (as proven by his post here) took away from the subject of the blog to one of his liking.
I would no more condemn Pete as a pervert than I would any other gay man who owns legal porn and/or enjoys fetish activity with other adults. I'd call him a pervert if he were a rapist, child molester, etc. So, unless it's revealed that he is actually a pervert, I think this self-loathing, porno-obsessed closet case should be referred to as "Porno Pete".
Actually Emproph my comments are more accurate than I’m sure you even realize. Now, I don’t dispute that Mr. McEwan answered my direct questions to him. I do, however, disagree with you that Mr. McEwan’s answers were somehow “thorough” (unless the standard for thoroughness has dropped considerably). In fact, his answers and definitions were completely arbitrary, and when I asked Mr. McEwan to justify his answers and the worldview that his answers flowed from, he simply choose to ignore me.
Furthermore, you are absolutely mistaken – as Mr. McEwan himself KNOWS – that I “never responded.” I replied to ALL of his responses as well as at least one response to one of your comments. Mr. McEwan choose to not allow them. Perhaps Mr. McEwan forgot to share that with you? As for Mr. McEwan’s reasons for not allowing my comments, I pointed out to him the fact that he contradicted the very (vague and ambiguous) standards he claims rule his comments section. And obviously he could not allow his readers to see that comment!
While I would never dispute that Mr. McEwan can defeat most any “anti-gay,” power-obsessed, self-proclaimed “Christian” conservative in a debate, it appears that he cannot handle serious interaction with a Bible-believing follower of Jesus Christ who honestly and lovingly wishes to question and critically evaluate his assertions and worldview. And that is sad, but very telling.
My vote, incidentally, is for Porno Pete. Cheers!

Although "Porno Pete" has stuck, I prefer "Pervy Pete" since it covers a wider spectrum. After all, he is wading around in more than the porno genre.

I think "Porno Pete" has already started propagating (I saw it in the IML Yahoo group this morning), so best to stick with that. Besides, it kinda sounds like it goes with the redefinition of another 'phobes name, as in "But when you use the Porno Pete, don't you end up with a lot of santorum?"
Oh, and AJ, if you were as long-winded and off-topic on that other blog as you already have been here, I don't blame the moderator for banning you. If you don't like how blog-owners moderate their comments, then start your own blog, and moderate it according to the standards you think they should apply, just to show 'em how it's done.
