"Porno Pete" LaBarbera is at it again. He's leaving his family behind in the countryside so he can go "undercover" and supposedly expose the naughty gay leathermen. His latest S&M romp was at the International Mr. Leather convention at the Palmer House Hilton. Having been to these events more often that Mr. Leather himself, I can hardly figure out what new and revealing information Porno Pete found this time. Having taken the same pictures and read the same pamphlets in the past, this excursion has little to do with news value and everything to do with Porno Pete's penchant for voyeurism.

What an existential emptiness this poor man has. He is either a closet case leather aficionado who can't accept himself, or he is so consumed with hate that he has dedicated his life to smearing a minority - in the name of God. Peter would use the love of Jesus as his cover - but this false mask is as obvious as the leather masks he wastes countless rolls of film photographing. Perhaps, Porno Pete gets off on showing Midwestern church ladies gay porn - to see the look of shock on their beet red fundamentalist faces. One can almost hear him snickering and moaning as he breathlessly writes (with his free left hand) on his vanity blog:


After failing at the Illinois Family Institute, I can't imagine Porno Pete is making much money dressing in leather assless chaps (or whatever peculiar item of dress he concocts in his presumed dungeon) and peddling his extremely tired routine. Hasn't he been doing the same hapless gig since the early 90's? His poor wife must be beside herself, as he goes "undercover," yet again, instead of getting a real job.

Porno Pete would have more credibility if also shined a light on straight swingers clubs and other hetero smut dens. But his bizarre, creepy addiction to anything homosexual - particularly if it involves leather - makes his act a thin cover for anti-gay bias. Or, a way to allow him to live in the gay leather community, without having the balls to proclaim his homosexuality. Either way, it is a soulless, Godless existence that seeks to bring others down, but really reflects most poorly on Porno Pete.

The Religious Right has laughed this clown out of Washington and Springfield - and it is only a matter of time before he has to give up his act as anti-gay prig and find a job in a suburban burger joint as Assistant Manager of Fries. And, if his past job performance is any indication, the fries would be cold and soggy.

One day, Porno Pete will wake up and realize that he is a national joke and a punch line. Until that horrifying day of reckoning comes, Peter will visit the tubs or leather balls in the name of research. I wish he'd just get off our backs - but he won't - because he'd much rather just get off on his orgiastic, voyeuristic, sodomistic, sadomasochistic fixation.

While Peter may have reported on some odd things over the years, he is by far the biggest freak at any of these eccentric events. The tragic part is, everyone knows this but him. Sorry, Pete, but someone has the break the news to you.

Is porno Pete at it AGAIN?!??! Yes, it looks like it! Speaking only for myself, I tend to agree with Peter's assertion that the leather scene is not to my liking, which is why I have never found myself involved in it in any way, shape or form. Funny, being that we share the same viewpoint, I would think that Pete would, like me, always be as far away as possible from such events. Most tellingly, Peter just can't seem to find himself anywhere else but in the very middle of them! I wonder what kind of "research" goes on after the lights go down. I bet it's research that's married to a bottle of Jack Daniels and a mind filled with such unsettling images.

I don't like naked women, so I avoid straight porn. I don't like football, so I avoid Soldier Field when the Bears are playing. I don't like snuff films, so I avoided "The Passion of the Christ."

I like horny leathermen, so I got a room at the Palmer House for IML. So, apparently, did Porno Pete.

I've seen Porno Pete in person. I'm not sure how you could tell the differnce between his ass and his face? Both are ugly, empty holes filled with either nothing or shit.

Pete was hiding behind glasses at the bathhouse, "undercover". The fool was so dumb that he came in the Steamroom with glasses and they fogged up.

I looked at him funny, and when he knew he was spotted, he scurried away - like a wet rat in a sewer. Then he disappeared. Ever since this day, I take my cellphone camera with me to the Steamworks. I can't wait to catch this piece of refuse in the act.

Let's pretend for a moment that Peter LaBarbera is indeed secretly homosexual -- which would also make him a liar, an adulterer, and a hypocrite. Does that change what God's Word has to say about homosexuality?

"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, ...nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, ...will inherit the kingdom of God." -- I Cor 6:9-10

If Wayne Besen's lies were true, Peter LaBarbera would spend eternity in hell -- along with Wayne Besen and all unrepentant homosexuals. Wayne, if you do see Peter LaBarbera in hell, I doubt you'll think it's funny; you'll be in too much pain and misery, with no hope of relief.

God will judge Mr. Besen, and he will not be found to have been telling the truth, but rather that he was used of Satan to continue to feed the sinfully lustful ears of the gainsayers (sodomizers). Mr. Besen has no wisdom, no understanding, no knowledge, and is vainly puffed up in his self centered and defiled mind. It appears that Mr. Besen's wisdom ends with "Whatever you want to do in life...do it, and don't let God or anyone else tell you how to live your life." The end of that eartly wisdom is death and hell, without question.

To the Bible spouters-- I know it's pointless to write this, as you are clearly so irretrievably poisoned by your hate, that no amount of rationality, compassion, understanding, or logic, whether theologically based or otherwise, will ever get through to you.

You can call it expressing God's word, but you'll never convince me of that.

You are a religious bigot, no matter how much you try to dress this up in the language of morality, or take some badly translated biblical passages to justify yourself. You pursue your hatred of gay people with the same absolute moral certainty that you are expressing god's will with which you used to burn witches and heretics, and with about the same amount of moral and theological validity. (We won't even mention that pesky old thing called reality).

You say that it is not you that is disapproving of homosexuality, and not you that is judging, but God. Funny, I don't hear God talking, I only hear YOU talking. I hear you quoting "God's word", allegedly on this subject, while ignoring all of the passages in the Bible that don't accord with your personal prejudices, whether it is eating shellfish or pork, or destroying all of the unbelievers in our midst with a sword. (Deut. 13-6, 8-15) But that kind of violence, so clearly advocated by your god, that would be impolite, wouldn't it?

You quote your Bible about the "wrongness" of homosexuality, but ignore far more compelling commandments that don't comport with your non-prejudices. For example, Jesus was very clear on this subject: divorce is not an option. He also was quite clear about judging others before you yourself have achieved perfection. You're very clear that based upon your religious beliefs, my HUSBAND and I are not entitled to the same responsibilities and benefits of marriage, even in a very obviously second class civil union, that you enjoy. In other words, my and our equality before the law can be compromised because of YOUR religious beliefs. If you said that Jews or Buddhists could not have the same civil rights that you do because they do not share your religious beliefs, you would rightly be labeled a religious bigot. But because it is about gay people, and whatever you imagine my sex life to be makes you say "ick", you are not being a bigot...so you say. You're just expressing your religious opinion.

Lest you accuse me of hating you, of being intolerant, of calling you names, let me be clear. I do not hate you, or really, care anything about you. I only wish that you would mind your own business, take care of your own marriage, and stop insisting that you have the right to mind mine--because of what you call your "religious beliefs". You can believe whatever you want, and teach it to your children, and spew it in Church to your heart's delight, however uncomfortable it may be for me to hear it. It's a free country, at least for white, conservative, preferably Christian, heterosexual people.

There is really no difference between you and the islamo fascists who fly airplanes into buildings and blow up innocent people (and themselves) because of their religion.

Both of you have a sacred book, which by any logical analysis is absolute,self-contradictory nonsense. Both of you quote your book to justify your beliefs or prejudices or whatever you want to call them. Both of you use it to justify whatever it is you do to other people whom you do not know and who have done you no harm other than to exist and offend you), both of you believe you are doing or expressing what god wants or tells you to say.

The suicide bombers kill people quickly and painfully, despite the koran's very clear prohibition against suicide (a prohibition far clearer than the bible's alleged condemnation of homosex) and despite islam's proclamation that it is a religion of peace.

You so called christians no longer kill people quickly, for the most part. (here and there, of course, but except for northern ireland, those people are not really civilized). you prefer to do it slowly. You use the bible's alleged prohibitions on homosexuality to kill people, take their spirits and crush them, turn something beautiful into something vile, torment them, degrade their lives, use every part of the coercive power of the state to make their lives miserable, do everything you can to hurt and crush and annoy and pain. you have very clear proscriptions in your book against judging and condemning alleged sinners by your founder, and you publicize your beliefs as a religion of love.

Yes, you are right, however; their convenient belief that their ancient holy book is "infallible" is quite effective in allowing them to behave like the scoundrels that they are without having to take an iota of responsibility for that same behavior. Despite the plentiful admonishments from their very own book, they nonetheless choose to stand in judgment of all who believe and live differently. I do not shop at Walmart -- didn't before and surely wouldn't now that they promote homosexuality. I am not divorced, nor does my church teach tolerance for divorce or adultery.

Anytime this talking point (or others like it) is cited, it demonstrates complete ignorance of the Bible. Jewish dietary code was part of "the law of Moses" and was dispensed with under Jesus (see Mark 7:1-23; Acts 8-9; and Galatians 2:11-14). The moral law (including the prohibition on homosexuality) remains unchanged from the days of the patriarchs, through the Jewish era, during Christ's ministry, and after the institution of the church. In fact, in Mark and in Galatians, the very passages where the food laws are declared obsolete, the moral law is reaffirmed.

If I hated you, I would merely condemn (and be condemned myself). But I care enough to urge you to read the Bible and learn. I know the forgiveness, the joy, the peace, the assurance you can find in Jesus Christ and I invite you to experience it for yourself. Heaven and hell are very real.

Thank you for proving my point. I've heard the argument that Jesus did away with the whole moral law thing. I've also heard the arguments, equally well argued, that he did no such thing. and of course, Jerry Falwell, and those of his ilk, claim that the bible is completely inerrant on everything, which it obviously is not.

Likewise, though your church does not believe in divorce, many other equally christian churches do. The Episcopal church was founded on the need to divorce an incovenient wife. fundamentalists have the highest rate of divorce in the nation.

So which of you christians am i supposed to believe. Oh, yes-- you.

but the muslims say that their book has superceded yours. they recognize Jesus as a prophet, but don't buy the whole son of god thing. So who am I supposed to believe?

This really isn't the issue of course. The real issue is that I don't believe ANY of you. I certainly don't believe your pronouncements on homosexuality, based as they are on highly questionable translations and interpretations, whether old testament or new.

You are free to believe whatever you want, however crazy it may seem to me. It's a free country. what gets my panties in a bunch is your insistence that I must believe it, too. The worst of you claim that if I don't, then you will hurt me. At the least, you will mount political campaigns against my brothers and sisters to enforce your views.

I'm sick to death that the course of my life, and my happiness, and those of millions of people just like me, can be subject to your prejudices, whether or you prefer to call them your religious beliefs or just admit them for what they are. I am equally sick that gay people are imprisoned, attacked, murdered, executed, used as political fodder, vilified, condemned, persecuted, jailed, slandered, libeled, and accused of all sort of things that are simply NOT TRUE because someone doesn't approve, or believes their God does not approve.

I am angry as hell that any man and woman who met five minutes ago and have $50 for a marriage license can get married and have the full panoply of rights and obligations that go with it, but my friends Andy and Paul, a devoted couple for 40 years, or Lance and Peter, together for 35 years, are legal strangers to each other. I am angry that they have to jump through all sort of expensive legal hoops to secure their lives together, all of which can be undone by the combination of a distant relative, a homophobic judge, and a law that permits it.

My husband and I just spent $1500 to secure the life we have built together from the greedy depredations of my relatives. And it may not work. You can accomplish the same thing with a $50 marriage license.

I'm really angry that my friend Steve could not be at his husband's bedside 20 years ago when Johnny was dying, because they didn't have the medical power of attorney documents in their possession when Johnny was struck down. Johnny died alone. Steve grieved for him alone, and didn't get to say goodbye to the man whose life he had shared for 15 years. All of that pain to satisfy some Christian's beliefs about what is moral and immoral.

I'm furious that people like you can smugly say we're all not perfect, but you'll still smarmily judge us anyway, and pretend that you're not. I'm furious that you prattle on an on about morality, but the IMMORALITY of what is done to gay people every day throughout the world, damage that is inflicted on our happiness, our health, our security, and our lives all the time, does not even merit your notice-- let alone an apology. Talk about a crime against nature--what about the crimes against our nature?

You don't approve of homosexuality, or as you might put it, you're not in agreement with what you see as our "choice". Let me tell you something. I don't approve of bigots, either. But the world is full of people just like you, who feel you have the right to do and say whatever you like to people you don't know, whom you clearly know nothing about, and who have done you no harm.

And why? Because there is something YOU don't like about them-- their race, their religion, their gender, their ethnic group, their language, or their sexual orientation.

However, this is not surprising, because God's Word, the Bible, teaches us in Romans chapter 1 that those who exchange the truth of God for a lie and who worship creatures, such as other men, are handed over to their degrading passions and to their "undiscerning [reprobate] minds to do what is improper."

And one of the signs of a reprobate mind is that it rejects, suppresses and twists the truth -- as you have about Peter LaBarbera and his motives for attending IML.

Example #1:

Example #2:

Peter went to IML for a couple of hours during an afternoon last weekend -- which was all the time he needed to see the depravity of that event.

Are they real the way New York is real? I've been there. Are they real the way Shanghai is real? I've never been there, but I know lots of people who weren't under the ingfluence who have been there, and I can locate it on a map. Are they real the way Vladivostok is real? I've never been there, and know no one who has. but I can read a lot about it from people who have, see that it plays an actual role in history and geography, can send a letter there and get a reponse. I've done that.

Heaven and hell are only real for one reason: YOU say they are. You also say that people who do not repent of their sins go there, but you have no evidence for it. many Christians claim that if you don't believe in jesus, the eternally just and loving god who so loved the world that he committed suicide on its behalf will send you there to burn for eternity even if you never heard of the guy. doesn't sound like justice and love to me. sounds like fear.

Regarding my forcing you to accept my beliefs. I really don't care what you believe, or what nonsense and hatred you teach your children (but call sincere religious belief or, laughably, love). All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law." Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because, "The righteous will live by faith." The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, "The man who does these things will live by them." Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree." He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit. Galatians 3 10-12.

Simply, if you rely on observing The Law, you yourself are bound by every part of it. You are not free in Christ. Jesus himself said he came not to destory The Law but to fullfill. He did so on the cross! He never once said I have come to fullfill the ceremonial and purity laws. Read it again Anon.

Also, let me point out some things about conservative Evangelical and Christian Fundies.

1. Divorce. No matter what they claim they disregard Jesus divorce = adultery (Matthew Ch.19 3-9) decree null and void. At least most of them do. Their pastors will remarry people that have divorced (which is promoting sin by the way). They hate the sin of homosexuality while they actually promote the sin of adultery!

Until they start to clamour against divorce as much as homosexuality their words and actions are not in line with their own beliefs. You cannot trust them! Until all 50 states have ballot measures to stop divorce you cannot take their word as true on anything! Until they demand all those that have divorced remain celibate the rest of their lives you cannot believe a word they say!

2. The Bible is the literal Word of God.

WRONG!

The Bible is not God! That is a form of idolatry! The Bible is not to supersede the work and power of the Holy Spirit!

Jesus is the Word of God! (John Ch.1 1-14). The Bible didn't come into its form until the late 4th Century. Even then the Bible was not in every home until the spread of the Protestant Reformation of the 16th Century. Not to mention that their is every interpretation under the sun depending on what Bible you read! Sorry, I rather be guided the the living and active Holy Spirit first and foremost!!

Acts 1 and 2 are perfectly clear that the Holy Spirit would baptise them. It was the Holy Spirit that made the Apostles run out and preach the Good News. (Acts 2 1-4). No where does it state that Jesus would send a book to guide them in their spread of the Gospel. The Bible is an inspired book written by those close to Jesus as a written account of his ministry on Earth. It was also a written account of the early church. Yet, as many forget, they were very flawed people that wrote the Bible.

No one has a right to judge anyone's salvation! No One! So stop playing Christ and stop demanding the worship of your beliefs as true, Anon and the others that claim to love Wayne so much you pray for him! You know you don't love him. The love you have is only for those that bow to your beliefs.

Charlene Cothran has not indicated she is straight. She even admitted she is celibate in an interview which is not an indication she has changed to heterosexuality. True change is from gay to straight by the very definition in Evangelical/Fundie Christians circles. Ted Haggard has not changed either. There have been many that have gone through ex-gay programs only to be lied to and brainwashed into believing that God can only love them if they are straight! Not true!

Dear "Not What You Think": You are exactly what I think you are, and here's why: In your utter spiritual arrogance, you urge me to "try Jesus, that it's real". Unbeknownst to you, I am now 36 years old. When I was 15, I became a born again Christian. Yes, a REAL "born again" just like you! Nine years later, at age 24, I left it for many reasons, but two stand out:

(1) I met people like you, who, on the most absurdly presumptuous level, decided that I was less spiritually evolved than they were. You did exactly that by urging me to 'try Jesus' when I already had, and,

(2) the experience was NOT real or authentic in any way. Jesus, Heaven and Hell seemed like mythological fables, and after a few years, I simply could no longer believe in such things. And the idea of a "talking snake" in paradise was just too absurd then, and it is as absurd now.

Guys like you write this "sweet, cotton-candy"-type stuff where you urge us to "accept" this "wonderful, loving" Jesus. There's only one problem: It ISN'T true. It ISN'T the answer. It DOESN'T solve society's problems. IT ISN'T REAL.

What stuns me most is that most believers don't even think about how sick the true nature is of the thing they are worshipping. Their "God" could learn a lot from many of us "mortals" about what love, compassion, and empathy really are. While believers are in church thinking about how moral they are for not having same-sex attraction, I'm spending my Sundays doing volunteer work actually helping others.

As for hell and God - you have serious misunderstandings.

God (in real, true and tough love) tries to turn you into a truly loving and holy creature - a Christ-like creature. Heaven is set aside for those who are willing to seriously undertake that internal transformation.

Hell is for those who reject God and who reject being turned into such. Hell isn't tortue for those who reject God! It's exactly what they've always wanted (only all the transformed creatures have left)! God just lets them have what they've chosen.

Of course, being in a place with lots of souls who've chosen to reject God and God's serious transformational love is not a choice many would make. But many do. That's why Christ is always talking about separating the wheat from the chaff, and the sheep from the goats, and so on.

It's up to you. You'll get what you really want.

I've read that same thing over and over again on the net how people have given up their faith because they have been told they can only be true Christians if they believed as they do which is mainly being thumped by conservative christianity. They have arrogantly torn people's faith apart in order to get the self-gradification they need to feel superior over others. I will not play into their hands! Nor should anyone else! Your salvation and relationship with Christ is between you and him. They do not control who goes to Heaven or Hell! Who is saved or not! However, some self-proclaimed preachers have already made their determinations from their pulpits but they have already condemned themselves!

You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. Now we know that God's judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. So when you, a mere man, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God's judgment? Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God's kindness leads you toward repentance? Romans 2 v.1-4

When the letter and the Bible was originally written it did not have chapters or verses. It was written as a letter to the Romans. For those that use Romans 1 as your defense to comdemn and hate homosexuals you are in turn condemning yourself! So don't be so smug in your attitude towards others you believe are less than yourself.

If every Evangelical/Fundie conservative Christian spent the same amount of time and energy to feed and clothe the poor as they do condemning and striping the rights of gay people there would be no hungry and cold people in the world.

Stating the truth about homosexuality is part and parcel of Christianity (or Islam) - and is part and parcel of true love.

Yes, the Supreme Court in a 5-4 decision said the Boy Scouts could throw out gay kids. The Supreme Court ALSO decided that gay people have a constitutional right to privacy in Lawrence v. Texas.

Sure. If you are a serious Christian, you cannot divorce, and you cannot remarry if your spouse is alive. Marriage, for Christians, is for life. Why? Because you have obligated yourself to love your spouse, and to do your best by her, all the days of your life, no matter what - and to provide the very best for your children, in love, all the days of your life. That's what love is. To abandon your spouse is not love.

But non-Christians can believe or do whatever they want! And in fact, Christians can do whatever they want! There will be consequences, but hey, no one's stopping them from doing whatever the hell they want.

God gives us free will. We can choose to do whatever we want.

On the legality of divorce - I DO believe that the law should try to do what is truly best for children - and divorce is, in general, bad for them. (You don't have to be a Christian to know that.) As a result, I don't think civil divorce should be easy, or able to be undertaken out of trite selfishness.

In general, if you're not prepared to love your spouse all your life - don't make a public vow that you're going to. If you are Christian, don't vow to God that you will, if you really are not going to.

After reading these 92+ posts, I think religious guy's problem boils down to this: he sees the gay rights movement not as an equal rights movement, but as a campaign to "legitimize sodomy", all the while ignoring the fact that heterosexuals commit more sodomy than gay people do. So his real problem is not with "sodomy" but with gay people themselves.

When she insisted that she was at least not a queer, my second comment went right to the heart of the matter.

Yeah - there are a whole bunch of fallacies here.

The reason God does not prove Himself is because He wants us to choose to become truly loving (Christ-like) creatures of our own accord. You cannot coerce love; it has to be freely chosen. And of course - I am talking about Christian love - that wants at all times what is truly best for the other - which is, to become a truly loving creature.

Homosexuals confuse love with sex (indeed, they confuse love with perverted sexual acts) - just like many normal people these days confuse love with sex. Real love is not the love of temporary feelings, or of pervert sex (which is seriously unloving in the Christian sense) - but the love of wanting the best for the other.

As for hell - the Bible implies that there are different levels to it (as would make sense) - but it is the place for those who deny God and God's real tough and true love. People deny such in different ways - but certainly one way is through committing unloving and evil actions.

But what I said above is true - for the level of evil you've committed in life and wanted to commit is the level of hell you'll get (initially). Those who want to promote sexual perversion to children, for instance, will get a level of hell commensurate with crimes and evil against children. Christ warns especially about evil against children - and the level of hell for that would be very, very deep. The level of hell for mass murderers will be presumably even worse.

But again - the level of hell you end up in will simply be the one commensurate with your decision to reject God on Earth and to do the things you did. In other words, you just pass through to what you chose on Earth. You DO get what you want.

Unrepentant sodomites will get a level where they can sodomize each other day in and day out for eternity. That's what they wanted; that's what they get. I wouldn't want eternity spent with men's rectums and ding-dongs down my gullet, but hey, that's me!

And - as to the torture part. Well, it is a huge MISTAKE to think that God wants to torture you. What happens is that you, at the level of hell you chose, are surrounded by all sorts of other people who also rejected God and God's love. But then - of course - you will be tempted by all sorts of evil and bad things that are presented to you and which are even worse, and most will end up moving DOWN even further. Those at the bottom, in deep fire and brimstone - will only be there because they chose to truly hate God and all goodness and purity and light and truth.

Many homosexual, in my experience, hate God - because they blame Him for their predilections. That is also a serious mistake. God allows each of us to have challenges and crosses to bear, and tells us how to deal with them on the road to Christ transformation. Many homosexuals hate God, because they don't like that anyone tell them to desist from perverted sex. It's unbelievable to me that so many would choose pervert sex over the love of God - but hey - they do!

So again, in short - people choose what they get in hell.

God doesn't want anyone to be there - and that's why he has provided us the Bible, and sent his son to Earth to allow us a way to be forgiven our sins, IF we truly repent of them and so on.

But hey - people choose hell all the time. Christ tells us that most will indeed choose hell.

Anyhoo - as I said above, you get what you really want.

If you don't want a pesky loving God suggesting to you that things you're involved in are really bad for you and your soul, and in terms of what you were meant to be, and that promoting them is truly evil, then hey - that's what the hell you'll get!

It's all up to you.

God wants to transform you into something different from whom you are - but you don't have to do that. No one's forcing you. (Because again, you can't force true love.)

So choose. Choose wisely I would say to you out of love, but most homosexuals don't want love. They want affirmation (a form of unlove). They browbeat and call anyone names who doesn't affirm them in their perverted activities, so they bully everyone into giving them lip-service, and shutting up about what they really believe.

If that's what you want - you've got it! Most people gave up trying to talk to homosexuals about sex (and the Godly purpose of sex - and hey - just common sense) a long, long time ago - because they are just tired of being called names and shouted at and so on.

As for a God who wants people to choose love having to separate those who do and those who don't - that's just logic. You can't have a place (heaven) reserved for those who've chosen love, if you don't separate souls first. In the same way, you couldn't have a good kindergarten class in a Catholic school, if you allowed in drug dealers, sadomasochists, pirates and gang members. Right?

All of Christianity is just common sense - if you accept the idea of a truly loving God - meaning One who truly wants the best for you.

Finally, I don't hate you! I don't hate anyone! Hate is wanting the worst for the other, and I don't want the worst for any of you. Calling any homosexual to chastity (as Christians are called to do) cannot possibly be wanting the worst for a homosexual - as such, it CANNOT be hate! I also find bulimia disgusting (vomiting up ones food on purpose to stay thin). That's a serious disorder, involving the misuse of ones body (just like homosexuality) and many bulimiacs fly off the fringe if you suggest that they need help and that there's something better for them. Just like with many homosexuals, many bulimiacs don't want love - they want affirmation.

James Dobson claims the gay community makes up about 1% of the population. That means that 99% of the population is heterosexual. Are the believers aware that infidelity, fornication, divorce, domestic violence are out of control in the heterosexual population which makes up again 99% of the population. Yet, for some reason, good moral believers obsess on gays. Why? Because heterosexual believers having nothing to lose or sacrifice by focusing on gays. Heterosexuals by definition don't want same-sex relations. So by constantly condemning gays, they have nothing to lose, and can then pat themselves on the back and claim how moral they are. I have a suggestion. For the heterosexual believers that love to focus on gays, I'll commit to celibacy for life if you will.

Good point, the other Anonymous. Yeah - you're right. Some people condemn pervert sex while ignoring their own sins.

And there are indeed many, many Christian (and nonChristian) families who believe that American society is going down the hell hole - and indeed, that fornication, divorce, pornography, stealing, cheating, drug abuse, adultery, profanity, violence, doing wrong by kids, etc. etc. have gotten completely worse and out of control. Indeed, we are seeing the development of a totally morally relatistic society, where just about anything goes.

Half of all kids raised in the US today will be raised in unintact families. Half of all school kids believe cheating is OK. 20% of all school kids are involved in binge drinking. Etc. etc. etc. For me, American 'culture' has become toxic and is evil arrayed at my kids.

But I can tell you, one reason why homosexuality has become such a big issue with Christians is that the homosexual community is now pushing sexual perversion as a 'good' to their children. They don't want that.

And I can tell you some truths (though most of you here will disagree).

To start - the homsosexual community is making two HUGE mistakes. One is going after people's children - in Boy Scouts, in public schools, and so on. Father and mothers do NOT see the promotion of sexual perversion to their children as a good thing, and they are getting really, really angry. The downfall of the homosexual movement will be in large part because of this anger of loving parents.

The second huge mistake being made by the homosexual community is to try to take away people's freedoms. The vast, vast, majority of Americans is tolerant toward whatever you want to do in your bedroom. But if you try to take away their God-given and American rights to: freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of association, freedom to teach their children, in love, what they believe best for their children, you will provoke a war. I assure you, it's coming unless homosexuals stop this. But of course, they won't. Religions are dividing, parents are pullin' their kids out of public schools, people are going to court (like with the Boy Scouts), and so on. These are warning signs.

Homosexuals should be wise enough to understand that tolerance and politeness toward them is the best of what they can get. You cannot force people to say they believe acts like rectal homosodomy are good and wonderful, or to teach their children that. Homosexuals live in a delusional world in which they think that because most of the people around them don't vocally disagree with them, everyone agrees with them. They're completely wrong about that.

Recent polls showed that right now, 49% of Americans believe homosexual acts to be immoral. 47% believe they are to be tolerated. That's the best you will do. People have shut up about what they really believe about homosexuality for many different reasons - but you guys are forcing the common person now to speak up and oppose you. Mr. L. opposes you because he is concerned about his and other children. You are provoking a war that you will, in the end, not win. This is not effeminized Canada which has no freedom of speech or religion. This is the USA. Many Americans will fight against what they perceive as evil arrayed at their kids - and against the stealing away of their freedoms.

In short - if you guys were to shut up about what you do and why you believe it's so great and stop trying to get at our children, we'd all be fine. Of course, you won't take my advice, but hey - I tried!

No - Chris - Calling people away from misuse of their bodies (and the insidious consequences of such) is not hate, it's love. Just like with the bulimiac. Calling people away from the denial of their manhood or womanhood similarly is not hate, it's love.

Homosexuality is a deep disorder (which is NOT genetic) - and for the vast, vast majority of those (especially men), it does not bring deep happiness in life - or only a very limited form of happiness. All men desire sex - on a frequent basis - it's an animal desire. Men are naturally lustful and promiscuous. That's why so many homosexuals (like my former governor, McGreevey) are so promiscuous - men with men, in the absence of religious belief, and in the absence of common sense, and in the absence of WOMAN, have no brake. Homosexuals I know tell me that they have sex first, and get to know the other after. I believe them. That's what two men, perversely attracted to each other, would naturally do. That's why our parks and reststops are now filled with homosexuals trying to copulate with each other.

The truth is - men and women are designed to fit together - psychologically, emotionally, sexually, and so on. Two men are not. Two women are not. That's why most homosexual relationships self-frustrate - it's like trying to force two + magnetic poles together.

Most homosexuals (especially men) lead lives of short-term relationships, casual sex, infidelity, and of course, the glorification of seriously disgusting sexual acts - like homorectal sodomy. Some manage to avoid that fate - but they are the minority.

Now - many, many homosexuals can be helped with their disordered desires - but it's difficult and takes truly wanting to on the homosexual's part. Why? Because once you get into sexual perversion of some sort and find it pleasureable, your brain rewires in that way. Same way cocaine will ALWAYS have a draw on the coke addict, and alcohol on the alcoholic, and so on. That's why - it's far, far, far, far better to help someone with such desires before they get into slaking them. And then, of course, homosexual desires arise for different deep reasons - which usually include feelings of rejection by those of the same sex - and the wanting of what more masculine members of the same sex have. That adoration gets eroticized - one steps over the bounds of normalcy - and one gets hooked for life. Many others get hooked into it by being molested by those they want attention from. Many lesbians have been molested by men; many homosexual men have been molested by men.

Now - to even start to undo all this damage, you have to give up your compulsion. Yeah, that's right! Same way a cigarette addict has to give up cigarettes, or a cocaine addict cocaine. You may find some solace in your sodomitic activities, just as a cigarette smoker does - but it's NOTHING like the real thing (a man and a woman joined for life). You can pretend it is, but people on the outside can easily see it isn't. They give up on trying to get you to see that, because, as I noted above, homosexuals just don't want love. They want empty affirmation for whatever they do.

Then, after giving it up, you need to undo all sorts of evil ways of thinking, and all sorts of lies you've been told, and you need to learn how to think of yourself as a man or a woman - and that takes a lot of peeling away of damage that's been done to you.

And despite all the denials on this blog - many people have successfully done that. I know several myself - and truthfully - they are much happier.

The big point is - you can't even start to undo the damage until you give up what drives you so much (the desire for pervert sex).

That's why it's truly loving to say to someone to give it up. Same way for the sadomasochistic perverts at the Palmer House - they have fallen into love of certain perverted activities. If you think a man's wearing a diaper and living out diaper fetishes is best for him, you have no idea what love is. Same for a man who finds himself copulating with men's assholes.

Now - most homosexuals just refuse to believe any of this, and they convince each other of it - and they hate anyone in the world who mentions it. I understand that. But God's course is still truly the loving one. Finally, just physically, giving it up will keep you safe and whole and let you have a good long life.

Last - Christianity posits that there is something much, much more joyful that sex of any sort - which you can have (but you have to understand first). I lived a good portion of my life chastely (before I married) - and I have no regrets whatsoever about that. I didn't suffer from it (above and beyond the desire for sex all men have). I had a very fulfilling and joyous life during that time. What I'm saying is - there are BETTER things than sex - but to have them, you have to give up other things first. I know, I know - hard to believe, right? It's paradoxical, but it happens to be true.

Billions in this world will tell you that.

Last - Chris - and I will leave the thread too. Christianity is both the largest religion in the world (1/3 of the world) and the fastest growing. You can laugh all you want at Christ and God - but really, I know where that leads, and I would never want that for you.

The truth is, more people, when they look to God, choose to do so through and with Christ. Why? Because God and Christ have been revealed to us - and because people understand in that revelation that They represent true love, and want to tranform us into something far greater than we are.

I wish you could see that - and that billions upon billions will choose that love over political correctness - and will even sacrifice wealth, sex, popularity, comfort and so on, for that love.

After reading all of these comments, and posting a few myself, I would like to point out a few things to my gay brothers and sisters:

It is clear that the anti-gay posters here are NEVER going to change their minds until something life-altering happens to them.
Many are irretrievably poinsoned by hate-- not that they will ever admit that, but it's clear to us. Some are irretrievably poisoned by fear-- fear of whatever they imagine our sex lives to be, fear that somehow we are going to try to force them to do god-know's-what, fear that we are trying to recruit their children (3 children and you get a toaster oven!), fear that we are trying to destroy their lives and familes and our nation, fear that we are upsetting that natural order and won't their god be pissed about that.

Some are irretrievably poisoned by their religion, though where it is written that the central point of Christianity is opposition to homosexuality, or an obsession with sin, or whatever else has been posted here, is a mystery to me.

What is VERY clear is that no amount of logic, reason, facts, love, no appeals to consistency or the bible, or anything else we could EVER do or say, is ever going to convince them that maybe, just maybe, whatever it is that they think they know about gay people and what we want is flat-out a product of their own imaginations and fears, fear promulgated and supported by their religions or ideologies, often for reasons of power or money, rarely for reasons of holiness. It has NOTHING do do with who we actually are, what he actually want, or anything else to do with pesky old reality. As I said in an earlier post, they now pursue gay people with the same absolute moral conviction that they are doing god's will with which they formally burned and tortured witches, heretics and Jews.

We are the visibile ones now. Only the real nut cases believe in witchcraft, there are too many heretics, and pogroms against the Jews are no longer considered socially acceptable outside of certain muslim and nazi circles.

You have to wonder why there are so many of them visiting this and other gay sites, making their non points in voluminous language, trying to convince us that they are ust watching out for our souls. And no, bigots, I'm not accusing you of being gay, though I think that is certainly a motivation for some of you-- pervy pete, for example, who started this thread, and Ted haggard, and many others of their ilk.

What this is about is just plain old prejudice, blind, unthinking prejudice. They will claim otherwise, but just reading these posts will make it clear that that is all it is about, and nothing more.

So, I have two suggestions for you.

ONE: when they post here, just ignore them. Don't answer, refute, rebut, appeal to logic, fact, or bible. Hard to do, because we are angry. But we are not going to change them. THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED. And they thrive on the attention. In 30 years of dealing with them, that is the only fact that is clear. The only thing we do by writing is to get it off our chests, but it will not alter them. we can hope that they will indeed have that life-altering experience, as many Christians have, that will cause them to say "I was wrong." but don't count on it.

2) What we CAN do is work on our own lives and be the change that we want to see in the world. If you want to see the bigots become a minority, wailing their fears and hatred in the dark to an ever-decreasing audience, then COME OUT. Tell your families, friends, and co-workers. Hold your boy/girl-friend's hand in public you can safely do so.Write letters to the editor, your church, your representaives, and SIGN YOUR NAME.

The bigots are not the enemy. They have only as much power as we are willing to give them. The enemy is and always has been THE CLOSET. And only you can bust down that door.

Living here in Illinois, I am quite familiar with Peter LaBarbera.

The man is a walking embarassment and complete failure in life.

When he's lobbying in Springfield, he hounds the media to interview him so he can make a statement that will be put on the air. The media, however, tries to avoid him. Even they have him figured out.

He comes from the Family Research Council in Washington DC and heads to our great blue state of Illinois to run the Illinois Family Institute (IFI).

As was previously mentioned, he essentially tries to shock and horrify his followers by portraying the gay community-- specifically gay men-- in a very negative light. He says virtually nothing about lesbians.

You know who else did this trick? Anti-gay "researcher" Paul Cameron, who while in Washington DC, would go to Lambda Rising bookstore and head straight for the adult stuff, walking out with arm loads of "evidence" and then publish some bogus "study" or "research".

Same tactic with Pete here in Illinois, but instead he goes to IML, Chicago's Gay Pride Parade and Northalsted Market Days. In fact, mark your calendars for the following dates:

Chicago's Gay Pride Parade, June 24
Northalsted Market Days, August 11-12.

Wait 2 to 3 days after each of these events, and then make sure to read his Americans For Truth website about what he "discovered" because you can bet he will report on it.

Each of these events occur on Halsted Street-- the heart of Chicago's gay community. And where does Porno Pete station himself?? Right in the 3200 block of North Halsted Street. What's there, you ask? Steamworks bath house, of course.

The guy operates like clockwork and is so predictable. EVERY YEAR same thing and the same old crap on his web site 2 to 3 days later.

While at the IFI, nearly every entry on the website on anything gay, was followed up by a hysterical plea for money. But what did his financial supporters get for their money?

Nothing, absolutely nothing. Here's the Illinois Family Institute's record while Peter LaBarbera was in charge:

1. Tried to kill the Illinois civil rights bill that includes sexual orientation and gender ID. IFI failed. Illinois is a gay-rights state.

2. Tried to stop the Gay Games from coming to Chicago in 2006. IFI failed, Gay Games were here.

3. Tried to stop the Games rowing event from occuring on Crystal Lake (suburban Chicago). IFI failed, Crystal Lake approved the event.

4. Tried to stop HIV-positive athletes from entering the country. IFI failed; the athletes were allowed entry for the Gay Games.

5. Tried to put an advisory referendum supporting a ban on same-sex marriage on the November 2006 ballot in Illinois. The IFI failed, too many bogus signatures. (And speaking as a volunteer for Fair Illinois-- the organization charged with verifying the petitions-- I can tell you I've never seen so many bogus names and signatures in my life.)

They even went so far as to appeal that ruling to The U.S. Court of Appeals, 7th Circuit. They lost.

After his failure with the November ballot initiative, the guy was shown the door from the Illinois Family Institute and tried to jump start Americans for Truth-- an already defunct organization.

Since his departure at the IFI, the number of gay-related articles on the IFI site is near zero-- a complete 180 degree turn from when he was there.

And most recently, while LaBarbera is at Americans For Truth:

6. Tried to torpedo the Day of Silence in area schools by encouraging parents to keep their kids home that day. The guy even reported that he kept his own son home that day. The ulimate irony? According to the Naperville Sun, the absenteeism at his son's school that day was LOWER than normal. He failed again, and the Day of Silence went forward as planned.

Peter LaBarbera is batting .000 (literally). He has nothing to show for his efforts or for the money donated from his naive followers.

I know Christian conservatives are reading this. My request to you is this:

Don't give a dime of your money to this clown, Americans for Truth, or the Illinois Family Institute. He's a complete sham. Donate that money to a homeless shelter, for medical research to cure a disease, or just keep the money in the bank.

All this talk of children--and this started with Porno Pete's report on IML. Fact is, in order to get into the Leather Market at IML one had to first go past the signs (photographed by Pete) saying that the hotel was closed to the public for a private event and then show a photo ID proving that you were over 21 years of age. So no children could get into the Leather Market at IML; they could only see whats there...through Porno Pete's online report (which doesn't use even the most basic technologies available--like NetNanny--to try to prevent children from seeing it).

Oh, yes, you also have to sign a sworn statement declaring thet you will not be offended by viewing expicit sexual materials or materials depicting same-sex activity. So Porno Pete was either lying (bearing false witness) when he signed the statement, or he's lying in his report.
