Now that the Constitution is in tatters, the courts have been weakened and Bush has degraded America's military, diplomatic and economic power - Karl Rove is slithering away. He should be proud of himself. It is awfully difficult and takes an enviable amount of skill to bring down a country as powerful and rich as America.
Of course, I am sure Rove won't notice how much he's damaged this nation. I have a feeling that it won't be long before he is on several of the boards of companies this administration has helped enrich at the expense of working men and women.
Fortunately, America started catching on the past two years (better late than never) and Rove's legacy has taken quite a battering. He will be remembered for winning elections at the expense of this country. He also sullied politics by running smear campaigns and "swift boating" opponents - often with homophobia.
While his work is done - ours is just beginning, as it will take years to clean up the mess of the Great Bush Mistake.

Maybe they finally got some dirt on him that can stick, or maybe he's sick (karma time). There was also speculation that he was going to work on getting Jeb Bush to the white house. He's deluded if he thinks this country will tolerate anymore bushes in the oval office. We're sick to death of that crime family and all their minions from hell! Yesterday, Huffington Post had some articles on rove.

This country most certainly and most DEFINITELY would accept a third Bush in the White House! Let's tell it like it is here: Most American voters simply don't have the ability to analyze the issues with any reasonable degree of depth or clarity. I'm no genius, but the average american's intellect is so substandard that GW Bush was able to eliminate Habeas Corpus and get away with it with barely any outcry. Why? Not because they agreed with the man, but because they didn't even know what Habeas Corpus WAS!
Face facts. Our fellow citizens are adolescent and anti-intellectual, the type that is content to grunt out, "We're number one!" and think it's an actual foreign policy. They change the name of "french fries" into "Freedom Fries" and think they're right for it. Worst of all, huge numbers of people vote for a candidate NOT because s/he will "do a good job" but because they "believe in Jesus".
The evil genius Karl Rove got jelly-assed hicks to go to the polls, in part, because "the gays want to destroy marriage". Plus, they actually believed the "Swift Boat" trash that painted John Kerry, a war hero, as a kind of traitor! And all this was happening under the weak leadership of a man who went AWOL from the Texas National Guard himself! Does this make ANY sense to anyone!?

Lets not forget that Rove was also the architect of voter caging in Florida and elsewhere, lets see what he does in 2008. He can't help Giuliani, too liberal and if Giuliani has any sense, he'll steer wa clear of him; Romney I don't think is going anywhere, maybe Huckabee, Brownback or Duncan Hunter (Anne Coulter's hero) assuming Hunter runs, all three are right wing religious bigots. McCain and Thompson will probably drop out. I only hope the Dems can make Rove's subpoena stick, along with impeachment of Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld, Gonzalez and of course Rove! Wouldn't that be justice? Harriet Miers should be in jail for twice snubbing a subpoena, if that's contempt of court, I don't know what is. I bet you anything all these crooks acted on advice of Rove.

Chris, of course you're right. When you suspend the right of habeus corpus, the core of anglo-saxon law, what you have left is fascism. Its a word not many Americans like to hear, but this is what we have right now. A president who ignores the constitution, illegal wiretaps citizens without their knowledge, ignores the constitution and violates international law and the Geneva convention. This is what Hitler did in 1939! This dumb electorate voted/selected this clown Bush twice, not once, serves them right! Actually, I hope any of the republican candidates use religion because it will only hasten the demise of their party. They have no platform, if they do, I don't know about it. If they want to use gay marriage and abortion in 2008, let them. They'll self-destruct and Rove will be at the heart of it again.

One of the rats is deserting the sinking ship, I'd say.
