Critics say Hillary Clinton may be too scripted, but it looks as if this script is delivering her a happy ending - the nomination. Indeed, the much-discussed/maligned "Clinton Cackle" (her exuberant laugh in public) appears to be working at winning over skeptics and making her appear as an agent for change. Indeed, it is working so well, that I am going to start cackling every chance I get, particularly in public appearances. I have been practicing the "Besen Belly-laugh" in front of the mirror all morning. I should have it down by Friday.
According to The Washington Post, she has consolidated her place as the front-runner in the contest for the Democratic presidential nomination, outpacing her main rivals in fundraising in the most recent quarter and widening her lead in a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.
For the first time, Clinton is drawing support from a majority of Democrats -- and has opened up a lead of 33 percentage points over Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.). Her popularity, the poll suggests, is being driven by her strength on key issues and a growing perception among voters that she would best represent change.
Yesterday, her campaign announced that it had topped Obama for the first time in a fundraising period, taking in $22 million in the past three months in funds that can be used for the primary campaign, to Obama's $19 million.
Is it time to say Bye Bye to Obama? Is it the end of the line for Edwards? It looks like Hillary will be the nominee. I am still undecided (but like Clinton). What are your thoughts on this?

The sad fact about our backwards country is that she is still handicapped by having a uterus. A man in her position would be a shoe-in; despite the evidence from history that women can be just as great (or lousy) as leaders as men can. I'm not a great Hillary fan, but I would like to see her win just because the rightwingnuts *hate* her (and Bill) soooo much. They're still bitching about and blaming him for everything that's wrong in the universe. It would be great to see them boil as she undoes everything that bush and co. has wrought on us for the past 7 years! Red V

Plus Bill would be back in the White House as the 'first laddie' and that would really burn their muffins. Red V

Am no fan of hers because she like the other two don't believe in full equality. However, I'd love to see her win in one way to buck the GOP, the religious right and misogynists. Anything can happen between now and November 2008. She may win the nomination, but it doesn't mean she'll win the presidency. I would rather have had Dennis Kucinich in her position, by far the greatest mind among all of them. Its too far off to make any predictions.

America is not ready for a woman in the White House. America is not ready for fat drag queens on ENDA. When will the liberals learn?
Not all drag queens are fat, and there's a differnce between a drag queen and a transgendered person you bone-head. "America is not ready...yada yada yada". Americans are slightly retarded when it comes to social progress (especially compared to Europe and Canada), but eventually they get it. Maybe by 2030 you will too.

The Republicans are SALIVATING over a Hillary run for the White House. They know more people in this country hate her than love or even like her. Honestly people, do you really she can carry any state in the south, midwest (except maybe Il and MN)and the west (excluding the coast)? I don't think so. If the Demos insist on picking her as the nominee, they may just have another GOP (Mitt Romney, anyone?)in the WH, and that would seriously suck!

I think in the end it will be Rudi vs Hillary, the show that was supposed to take place in New York, doutbless another very close race, and we still haven't done anything about those voting irregularities in Florida and in Ohio. When are we going to learn? Wish Gore had been prez, or even the West Wing's Martin Sheen (more qualified than what we presently have, at least he can read!)
