Man Claims To Have Had Sexual Relations With Obama Gospel Singer Donnie McClurkin

Truth Wins Out Offers To Help McClurkin Accept Himself So He Can Live With Dignity and Respect

New York - Truth Wins Out urged Donnie McClurkin to set the record straight after a man on the website Clay Cane said he was having sexual relations with the Grammy winning singer, even as he preached anti-gay sermons. If the allegations are true, McClurkin should cancel his appearance at the Obama rally and learn to be true to himself.

"McClurkin should do the Obama campaign a favor and bow out gracefully, so he has time to reflect on his alleged hypocrisy and come to a place of self-acceptance," said Truth Wins Out's Executive Director Wayne Besen. "We offer a helping hand to assist him in the coming out process. Truth Wins Out understands that the notion of 'ex-gay' is a myth and McClurkin will be conflicted until he lives honestly and openly."

Wonderful if it is true. A real black-eye for anti-gay hypocrisy, and a major poke with a sharp stcik to the jesus-will-make-you-straight crowd. If it is not true or provable, however, it gives them some ammunition.

Ben - the ammunition argument is off target. How is this ammunition - homosexuality is suddenly wrong or immoral if the allegations are proved false?

On another note, I got a tip yesterday from a source, very similar to this one. The fact that this record matched my second source is why I went with it. As Sen. Craig might say - if the allegations are true - McClurkin is naughty and bad.

I looked at the whole article. If this is both true and provable...well, wow! But no surprise.

It all goes to show, as Rochefoucould noted,that hypocrisy is the homage that vice pays to virtue.

He forgot to mention that it is also more profitable.

No, Wayne. It just reinforces the belief that the homo agenda will stop at nothing to accomplish its goals, that we are bitchy and unstable, even to defame a man of god, blah blah blah. It is the people in the middle, not haters I'm concerned about.

If the man is unwilling to stanmd up and be counted, then his statements are only hearsay, not evidence. He fears the retaliation to his career if he ocmes out of the closet, which is not unreasonable to fear. however, by not coming out and identifying himself, he supports the closet that oppresses him and glorifies McClurkin.

That should really piss him off, but it really isjust another nail in his closet door.

I hope this hits mainstream media. I looked in the papers this morning, nothing reported.

This whole Obama/McClurkin debacle was discussed on "The View" yesterday. I think someone with authority on the sujbect of ex-gays such as you Wayne would be an ideal spokesperson to enlighten the women on the panel. One of the panelists, Sherri Shepard, said "nobody really knows if its a choice" but she seemed to be comfortable with the idea that it is.

To digress a bit, Armstrong Williams, a host of the early morning show on Air America representing the right wing view is strongly opposed to equality. Its amazing that nobody has brought up the sexual harassment incident with Stephen Gregory mentioned in your book, "Bashing Back". Hypocrites such as this should be exposed. He's just another Larry Craig.

The interview rings true to my ears (eyes in this case). How tragic to have sexual feelings such as McClurkin's and yet demean who/what he is publicly just to preserve his so called position: "I have a position to uphold and I have an image." As sympathetic as I may be for playing out his guilt sexually, he has invited the response exempified by the interview by speaking out against the rest of us. Sad that McClurkin's early sexual education was abusive. But I don't hear straights going on about how they hate being straight because they were raped. I think the issue that we should explore here is being both black AND gay.

McClurkin bashes gays for the same reason that Jimmy Swaggart so loudly condemned sexual infidelity ... it hits too close to home for them. People don't rage against things that they aren't threatened by.

Then all those who are out to condemn so called ex gays are really afraid that they themselves are straight??!! Your statement does not make logical sense if you turn it around on the gay community protesting such people.

No, anonymous, I said that people only rage against things that they are threatened by. Of course, happy and healthy gay people are indeed threatened by people who say being gay is a choice or, even worse, a disorder. It is crucial to respond to the threat that they pose, and Wayne has artfully done just that.

Wayne you do need to be careful not to misrepresent, but I support you in outing this fraud.

Back in high school, I had a female friend who was dating this guy, and it turns out he was having sex with other guys. Somebody outed him to her - but then the person doing the outing felt guilty, and said "maybe I should not have told you that, because it's his own private business".

My friend reassured the outer, and so eloquently stated: "People shouldn't do shit if they don't want other people to know about it".

Words of wisdom.

And a word to the wise: if you place yourself in the public eye by condemning people for their private sex lives, you probably sould expect people to retaliate by scrutinizing your own sex life in the same way.

Just common sense really.
