As I predicted, Huckabee won - but I thought that snake, Mitt Romney would do better after spending $10 million in Iowa. I have been to Iowa 5 times - how does one even spend $10-million in that cornfield? Huckabee's speech was also very strong, as he did not come off as a fanatic. Will the media call him out this week on his ties to dangerous religious extremists?
Obama pulled off a big victory and gave a phenomenal speech. Clinton also gave a strong magnanimous speech - but officially lost her air of inevitability. She can recover, but tonight hurt. Let's see if she can follow in the footsteps of her husband to be the "Comeback Kid" in New Hampshire.
Edwards kept his campaign alive and performed well. But, clearly, this was Obama's night and I congratulate him. May "Full of Mitt's" campaign crash and burn in New Hampshire...onto the Granite State.

How wonderful it is to hear these words of inspiration from Barack Obama and others, especially after seven years of the dishonest cynicism of the Bush White House. On the GOP side, even Huckabee gave a terrific speech. The dark cloud of the Bush presidency is lifting. We are on the verge of a bright new day!

Chris, I commend your optimisim but between now and November 2008 is a long time. Unless the democrats get a mandate, I doubt if any of the three will be able to achieve what they have set out to do in their campaign. Lets hope they do, but I for one am holding my breath.
Here in NY state, unless the republicans are ousted from control of the state senate, Spitzer will never be able to get his marriage equality bill through. Joseph Bruno has vowed to veto any such legislation if it were ever to pass the legislature. I'd be very surprised if they lost control.

Just not having George W. Bush around is reason enough to celebrate. Finally, we're moving beyond a president who chose ignorance over science, superstition over reality, division over inclusion and dishonesty over truth. Hell, even the snake Mitt Romney would be a breath of fresh air after what we've endured for the past 7 years with George W. bush, an utter failure as both a president and a human being.
