Cleveland Browns quarterback Brady Quinn was part of a group of men shouting insults at gay passers-by outside a Columbus bar early on New Year's Day, according to a 9-1-1 call made to police.

It's always amazed me that those "men" who act the toughest and the loudest seem to be unable to cope with the simple fact that gays and lesbians exist in this world. They act like scared little homophobic teenage boys, not real men. When you find them outside their "cult of masculinity", there really is very little manhood left to speak of.

So true Chris, someone needs to point out to Brady that name calling like that is one of the surest signs that he's a closet case. Plus did you read some of the comments on the newspaper's blog about this story? Most of them are just as socially callous and ignorant about human sexuality as that troglodyte Brady. Red V

In Brady Quinn's case, quarterback also means quarterbrain. Gary (NJ)

Well, if Brady wants to go the route of John Rocker, he can be my guest. Personally, I'm happy to live in the environment that I live in, where I don't have to pretend to be a "big man" to counter my inner feelings of insecurity and inadequacy. Those "men" can have what they have, but can you imagine having to wake up each day in a world of classless, uneducated grunting football players? God help me!

This is what it was like for me when I came out in high school, all the guys that called me names & physicly attacted me were ones I later found out that were gay,I even saw one of them in one of the local gay clubs a year after I graduated.

It all goes back to that same old addage, the ones who protest too much. A truly, well-adjusted straight male wouldn't feel that insecure to bother insulting or bullying us. I was verbally bullied a lot in school, never physically harmed, but just as bad. Some of it was jealousy based on my above average classroom abilities. When it came to playing sport, oddly it never came up because I was good a that too.

You really have to be a helluva lowlife to harrass gay guys on the street after getting drunk at 2 o'clock in the morning. What is this nonsense?

Considering some of the pictures I have seen of him on the internet (like the ones where he has his hand on another guys crotch), it wouldn't surprise me if he is struggling with his own attraction to men.
