Leave it to "Porno Pete" LaBarbera to jump on any opportunity to spread his anti-gay agenda. When Jim Adkisson opened fire in a Tennessee church on Sunday killing two people and injuring several more, the nation mourned.
But not Porno Pete.
The founder of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality immediately politicized the event and capitalized on it to say why he is opposed to hate crimes.
"Peter LaBarbera and his ilk are responsible for creating a climate where hate crimes can and do occur," Truth Wins Out founder and Executive Director Wayne Besen told PageOneQ. "LaBarbera is a despicable opportunist who barely waited for the police to lay down chalk and wrap tape around the crime scene before pushing his opposition to hate crimes legislation."

The irony is that this shooting WAS a hate crime, but probably not an ant-gay hate crime.
From what we can tell, the shooter acted out of animus towards this particular church and the faith it taught. It was a religion based hate crime.
How on earth did LaBabs have time to exploit this story, what with all the porn shops, leatherman events, and bathhouses beckoning?

For a straight married man to be trolling gay venues, viewing gay porn (I bet he has a the greatest collection ever), it does make you wonder why he's not seeking out hetero sites, he'll find far more to interest him and who knows, he might even get lucky. His marriage must be in shambles if he's spending much of his precious time looking at gay men having sex. Maybe he's just another ex-gay who can't get it up for his wife but instead, gets his jollies (just like Theo) hanging out in gay venues.
