Palin's Nutty Pastor On Pam's House Blend

One of my favorite bloggers, Pam Spaulding, has an interesting post up that discusses how Palin's old church was obsessed with demons and prayed for her to become governor. Clearly, she is unfit to be president in so many ways. The article also has some interesting viewpoints on race and the presidential election that are worth reading.

Back to Palin.

I predict she will crash and burn sooner than later. Has there even been a "fresh" politician with so many serious controversies swirling around in such tornadic fashion? Her days as a political star are numbered, and I believe she will go down as a cautionary tale on the importance of proper vetting.

I hope you're right Wayne, but after the past 8 years and level of support that McCain still has, I would never underestimate the level of ignorance and stupidity of about half of the american people. She just might slide through anyway. Shudder.

So Sarah Palin's pastor somehow makes her unfit to be Vice-President, but Rev. Jeremiah Wright and Father Michael Pfleger have no effect on Barack Obama's fitness for the Presidency? That doesn't exactly appear consistent Mr. Besen.

Concerning Sarah, conservative women, moderate Republican women, and even many politically moderate women in general such as myself are wildly enthusiastic about her and are now determined to do everything we can to see the McCain-Palin ticket succeed.

And most women who aren't diehard leftist ideologues have no trouble understanding Sarah's enormous appeal to us. She inspires us primarily because she lives her beliefs with strength, with enthusiasm, and with unswerving commitment to her values. And because of this, Senator McCain is gaining among women. I just hope and pray that history is made in November and a woman - a smart, conservative, pro-life, pro-gun, truly feminine woman - is our new Vice-President!

Nope. The pastor incident is the cherry on top of the very large sundae.

What makes her unfit is:

1) Little experience at a time when our nation faces great challenges.

2) She is a fake. Far from being a reformer - as the story line goes - she had a lobbyist to procure pork and was in favor of the "bridge to nowhere" before she was against it.

3) She is corrupt. She is under investigation for abuse of power. She originally agreed to cooperate, but now she is fighting the investigation. She wants a board of appointees to rule on whether she illegally fired Alaska's top cop, because he would not agree to enforce her vendetta against her sister's ex-husband.

4) She is a censor. Palin tried her best to monitor and censor books in the Wasilla public library.

5) She is secretive. Palin likes to come across as a reformer. But, she behaves more like Dick Cheney. To get around state sunshine rules, she conducts business on her personal e-mail account. This is just plain slippery.

6) She hires cronies. The New York Times reports that the roster of state government employees now looks like her high school yearbook. Many of these people are not qualified. Haven't we had enough of Bush cronyism? (Heckuva job Brownie!)

7) She is lazy. Palin did not like to show up to work. Her appearances were so infrequent in Juneau, that even Republicans began wearing "Where's Sarah" buttons. After 8 years of Bush bumbling around the ranch and Camp David, haven't we had enough of leaders that are allergic to work?

8) She lies. Palin claimed just yesterday that here teleprompter broke during her speech at the Republican National Convention. Witnesses say that this is not true. She made up the story out of whole cloth.

9) She's inexperienced. Palin does not even know what the Bush doctrine is about. Enough said.

10) She spins answers. Her notion that since she can see Russia from parts of Alaska makes her an expert on Russian relations is laughably absurd.

11) She's cruel. Palin made women who were raped pay for their own rape testing kits as mayor of Wasilla. Such kits are expensive and put the onus on the victim - which is virtually unheard of. She also is against abortion even when the health of the mother is at risk or when the woman was raped.

The long list of why any reasonable person who reads the newspaper and cares about our nation would oppose Palin is quite long. I could go on, but unlike Palin, I actually show up to work once in a while and must go now.

Wayne, Kathy is NO woman..."it" claims it is but its not. It uses a style of writing that somehow doesn't seem to tell me that its a female. "She" will deny it all "she" wants, but you can bet this is a male. These neocons come in here under many different disguises as you are aware, sometimes they are the same person using different pseudonyms, sometimes none. This is yet another agitator, much like Theo and Ethan. They're wasting their time, none of us really buy what they're saying. Things must be pretty desperate that they have to post on a gay blogsite, that's all I can say. "Kathy" I wouldn't mind betting is a socalled, "ex-gay".

Our nation's financial markets are burning, our army is stretched to breaking point, our national debt has so many zero's I doubt most American's could decipher the number, our credibility is at an all time low around the world, we've become a nation that tortures, we've abolished Habeus Corpus, Bin Laden is still free, Al Qaeda is regrouping, Pakistan and Afghanistan are blowing up again, Iraq is a money pit with no plan of action to get our troops home, the list of crimes and abuses of power and unconstitutional acts by our still potus makes Nixon look like a hack ...

And yet you have the nerve to support a GOP ticket of McCain and Palin.

Wayne, its no use trying to get through to these christo-neocons. Many of them believe in that fairy tale about Adam and Eve who had three sons who are supposed to have peopled the earth. In the absence of having sisters, one can only deduce that the three sons must have inpregnated their mother for that to happen. Some religious nut jobs even go as far to say that Adam & Eve had 50 children, a physical impossibility. Even if that were true, incest would have had to have been committed to produce others. So this dovetails nicely with Palin's insistence that victims of incest who become pregnant must give birth to their child at all costs, no matter the circumstances. They condone it by forcing a female to have her child no matter what and many children born of incest are often mentally retarded. Enough said!

We'll hear our boy "Kathy" and others like him accuse me of conspiracy theories just as Theo did, just wait and see, so predicatable and transparent. A bunch of whackos!

I doubt Kathy is a woman, too. She sounds like some right-wing wingnut by his definition of what a woman is. If that is what a woman really is, then I'm glad I'm transgendered.

The willful blindness of alleged ex-gay and gay Republican is one more example of their denial of reality. They lie to themselves, just as Sara Palin lies every chance she gets.

As for her pastor, he belongs in a straightjacket in a padded room!

the last I heard, scientists have traced the mitochondrial DNA (which you can only get from your mother) of the entire human race back to 3 women in ancient Africa who they've dubbed the 3 Eves; which means we're ALL black, a fact which is sure to discomfit the white fundos and rednecks. There is also a version of the Hebrew Bible that was eventually tossed out, in which Adam's first wife was named Lilith, who was strong, independent and wouldnt submit to a man. To make a long myth short, she was banished before Eve was made from a rib and she became this vengeful witchlike demon that mysteriously kills human babies (SIDS). The word lullaby comes from a prayer to banish Lilith (lullaby).
Next time they start with Adam and Eve or especially Adam and Steve, you can try to explain to them that it was actually Lilith and Eve and Shaneequah, they were all Africans and one of them is yo distant mama. Laugh....just joking, you can leave off that last part.

Obama is brilliant, graduated near the top of his class and was made the editor of the Harvard Law Review, a position which is reserved for only the most talented students. While Senator Obama is certainly no fool, and certainly not a fraud, he does have some shady relationships that aren't getting nearly enough attention. For example, Obama is getting a pass over his long-time friendship with the unrepentant Weatherman terrorist, William Ayers.

Furthermore, the mainstream media and Democratic bloggers have failed to mention the influential role that the late Saul Alinsky played in the lives of leading Democrats, including Senator Obama.
Saul Alinsky, who died in 1972, was a Chicago Marxist. Among his many books was one titled "Rules for Radicals," in which he explained to his acolytes, "The most effective means are whatever will achieve the desired results." It took Alinsky 11 words to paraphrase Karl Marx's far more succinct "The ends justify the means." Alinsky, by the way, dedicated that particular book to Lucifer, whom he coyly referred to as "the first radical."

The reason I'm bringing up Alinsky is because his disciples are still very much with us. For instance, he just happened to be the subject of Hillary Clinton's senior honors thesis at Wellesley College. It was such a glowing homage that, in 1968, a most appreciative Alinsky offered her a job in Chicago, but Ms. Clinton graciously decline and took a job elsewhere. However, when she became America's first lady, the White House asked Wellesley to restrict access to the paper, and Wellesley obliged, just as Princeton did when the Obama's requested that Michelle's racist screed be removed from circulation. By the way, where are all of Gov. Palin's book-banning critics on that one?

But it wasn't just young Ms. Clinton who had a connection to the late, unlamented Saul Alinsky. Thirteen years after the Chicago radical Marxist died, a group of his most devoted disciples hired 24-year-old Barack Obama to be a "community organizer" in South Chicago. Americans will be hearing a lot more about this connection in the next month.

the article continues: Four days after leaving Alaska for her first solo campaign trip, Palin's hallmark is a disciplined adherence to a sparse public schedule. Appearances are few, interviews with the news media fewer still, and unscripted moments nonexistent.

Such a wonderful asset to the GOP ticket.

Before people point out that Obama ranked highly in his class, it's important they keep in mind that Bill Bradley was a Princeton Rhodes Scholar despite his 485 Verbal SAT and mediocre 103 IQ. Academic success, like every other kind of success, is just as much about hard work and determination as it is about intellectual firepower, but Barack Obama's supporters obviously shouldn't be attempting to make their case for him on the basis of what is, based on the available information, probably an IQ of 116, only one standard deviation above the norm.

Of course, this estimate is based on averages which don't necessarily apply to a single individual; Obama could lay the matter to rest by simply permitting his scores to be released to the public.

If his intelligence is so incredibly important, as some of his more visibly insane supporters insist, then surely the senator should inform us precisely how intelligent he is. First, AIG didn't fail because of the economic philosophy of the last eight years. The Fed began goosing the markets under President Bill Clinton. Second, that "unprecedented step" was taken with the American International Group.

Ayers was chair of a respected Woods fund that was founded by a republican. This a guild by association charge. I would be more shocked by the Bush family association with the Bin Laden family. George Bush senior was in a meeting with Bin Laden's brother on 911.

It is tough to respond to Kathy since every single sentence she typed is incorrect; suffice it to say that she is a diehard rightest ideologue. She makes John Birch look like Karl Marx

I have no doubts that Obama is a fraud. He's pretty obviously the sort of presentable black individual that every white liberal wants to fall all over themselves helping, who happens to be a con man that expects and is always prepared to take full advantage of that help. There's one at every private school. I'd never questioned if Obama had written his own books or not, but it seems I probably should have.

Prior to 1990, when Barack Obama contracted to write "Dreams From My Father," he had written very close to nothing. As an undergraduate, Obama had written what he justifiably calls some "very bad poetry." He published nothing under his own name in The Harvard Law Review, where he served as an editor and as president. And after leaving Harvard, he published nothing in its review or in any law journal.

Then, in 1995, this untested 33 year-old produced what Time magazine has called - with a straight face - "the best-written memoir ever produced by an American politician."

The public is asked to believe Obama wrote this on his own. I do not buy this canard for a minute, not at all. I've developed an eye for literary humbug, and "Dreams" serves up an eyeful.

I had never even thought of Bill Ayers as a likely ghostwriter until I ordered his memoir, "Fugitive Days," and began to read it. He writes very well and very much like "Obama." Unlike "Dreams," however, where the high style is intermittent, "Fugitive Days" is infused with the authorial voice in every sentence. That voice is surely Ayers'. It would simply be too hilarious if it turns out that Bill Ayers rewrote Obama's book in order to complete the contract that Obama couldn't. No doubt some professional textual analysis is in order here.

McCain does have a voice of his own. You can hear it during townhalls or news conferences. It is the voice of a bully. You can hear him make rape jokes. Or get that deer in the headlights look when asked about Viagra and prescription pills. It is clear that he occsionally writes his own speeches in the Senate. The ones that have spittle all over them.

How can a man who can't write worth a damn put out a couple of best selling books? Simple. McCain got someone else to do the writing. Guy called Mark Salter. His own staffer. Keeps a low profile.

He is an author in the same sense that Milli Vanilli is a singer. There is nothing new here. Most American politicians have others write their books for them. Bill Bennett even got another guy to write a book about Virtue. I guess that makes him a Virtual Author.

It turns out that even McCain's Straight Talk is not his own Talk. It is fake. Next we are going to hear that Cindy's Recipes are not really hers either.

The point is, unlike most American politicians, Obama actually did write his own books. And he is a better writer than any of the hacks the other guys hired. Better even than most of the professional writers who work as journalists. Part of the reason why they admire him so much, as even right wing hacks admit.

Is this another reason why McCain so envious of Obama? Does the guy who barely got his college degree even care that Obama can write? A key may be found in the analysis of Romesh Ponnuru:

Why are the media so smitten with Obama? Journalists have an affinity for the Democratic nominee in part because he is a wordsmith and they make a living manipulating words and symbols, so they have a special appreciation for his gifts.
So part of the reason why McCain lost the infatuation of the media is that Obama is winning them over with his talents. Boy that has got to hurt.

McCain could dismiss W. as a lightweight, but he knows Obama’s smart. Obama wrote his own books, while McCain’s were written by Salter. McCain knows he’s the affirmative action scion of admirals who might not have gotten through Annapolis without being a legacy. Obama didn’t even tell Harvard Law School that he was black on his application.

McCain upbraids Obama for being a poppet, while he’s becoming a puppet. His mouth is moving but the words coming out belong to his new hard-boiled strategist, Steve Schmidt, a Rove protégé, nicknamed “The Bullet” for his bald pate.

Schmidt has turned Mr. Straight Talk into Mr. Desperate Straits. It’s not a good trade.

The Clinton campaign's latest tactic is to smear Barack Obama by claiming he plagiarized material in some of his speeches. As many pundits have noted, this was a move right out of Karl Rove's playbook--try to take an opponent's strength (in this case, Obama's eloquence) and turn it into a weakness. But when you consider the different approaches that Hillary and Obama took in writing their respective books, the Clinton campaign's attack is especially Rove-ian: When it comes to the issue of ownership of words, let's just say Obama is on much firmer ground than Clinton.

For Clinton's two literary efforts--the 1996 book It Takes A Village and the 2003 book Living History--she used ghostwriters. That's no grave sin: Plenty of politicians use ghostwriters. But it should be noted that Clinton didn't exactly shower hers with credit. In Village, Clinton infamously failed to include Barbara Feinman--the ghostwriter Simon & Schuster paid $120,000 to help Hillary with the project--in her acknowledgements. Hillary haters subsequently made Feinman a literary martyr, alleging that she'd written the entire book. More recently, Hillary's advocates told the New Yorker that Feinman's work was so unsatisfactory that it was basically unusable and Hillary didn't credit her out of spite. The truth probably lies somewhere in between--which still doesn't make Hillary look particularly good.

Nevertheless, Clinton did seem to learn her lesson from the episode and in Living History, she acknowledged the help of ghostwriter Maryanne Vollers. But Clinton didn't go so far as to list Vollers's name alongside her own on the book's cover, a gesture plenty of other presidential candidates--including John Edwards and John McCain--have made. As for Vollers's feelings about her work with Hillary, the novelist Walter Kirn--who lived in the same Montana town as Vollers--once wrote that Vollers came to conclude that "there was no Hillary, really, just a creature concocted by her people who was happy to be a concoction of her people." Vollers subsequently disputed Kirn's characterization, branding him a "delusional Clinton hater" and reaffirming her admiration for Hillary. When I called both Feinman and Vollers to learn more about their experiences working with Clinton, neither one was able to tell me about them due to the confidentiality agreements they'd signed. The editors of Village and Living History--Becky Saletan and Nan Graham, respectively--did not respond to phone messages, nor did Lissa Muscatine, a former Clinton speechwriter who reportedly helped with the writing of Hillary's two books. And Feinman's former literary agent, Flip Brophy, who brokered her deal for Village, refused to discuss the matter with me, branding it "old history."

Obama's literary efforts, in contrast to Hillary's at least, are an open book. As a relatively unknown young lawyer with a smallish book advance, Obama obviously couldn't afford a ghostwriter for his 1995 memoir Dreams From My Father, so he wrote the book himself. But anyone familiar with the story of Raymond Carver and Gordon Lish knows that editors sometimes do more than just massage an author's prose--they can also rewrite it. So I called Henry Ferris, who was Obama's editor on Dreams, to ask him how many of the words in that book were Obama's. Ferris didn't have too many specific memories of the work he did with Obama more than a decade ago. "He and his book now are seen in such different ways than I was looking at them at that time," Ferris explained. "I didn't take on the project thinking he'd be a leading candidate for the presidency." But Ferris was absolutely adamant about one thing: "He wrote it completely and totally all by himself," Ferris said. "No one helped him." He added, "The manuscript needed shaping and focus, it needed editing, a lot of which he did based on suggestions I made. He was a terrific writer, a great stylist. ... This was not a job where I went in and had to completely redo this book for him. He needed the kind of guidance any first-time writer would need."

For his second book, the 2006 The Audacity of Hope, Obama got enough of an advance ($1.9 million for a three-book deal) and was certainly busy enough with his work in the Senate--not to mention laying the groundwork for his presidential campaign--that no one would have blamed him for going the ghostwriter route. But, according to Rachel Klayman, the Crown editor who worked with him on Audacity, he didn't. "I get irritated when people ask, 'Does he have a ghostwriter?' because it's the opposite of that," Klayman told me. "Not only does he not have a ghostwriter, he's on an entirely different plane from most writers editors work with." Klayman said that Obama's writing process was similar to that of many authors: He'd write a draft of a chapter--oftentimes working at his computer late at night--and then send it to her and a group of other people (although in Obama's case these people weren't just friends but mainly political and policy advisors) for suggested edits.

As for what Obama sent in, Klayman said, "I've never worked with any other writer who needed less line editing than he did. That's how clean his writing is. That doesn't mean we didn't do some editing. I did a lot of different things. But he's sort of a self-editing phenomenon. Sometimes my role was to stand back and watch him edit himself." She added, "Working with him was so much like working with someone whose day job is being a writer. He is a writer as far as I'm concerned. [Slate editor-in-chief] Jacob Weisberg said he's more like a writer who became a politician than a politician who became a writer."

No wonder Obama refuses to do townhall events with McCain. That video shows what happens when Obama loses the teleprompter at campaign stops. He must have someone else write them and then just speak them for the first time, because it is shocking how he trips up so often. It's painful to watch, but also enlightening to those who think Obama may very well be a talking AND writing fraud.

The townhall format is poor politics and offers the voters nothing other than getting to know who you would like a beer with. No, I much prefer yale debate society style debates. They take personality out of the mix and deal with facts not gimmics. Reagan didn't take part in them to my memory, however I accept that I may be wrong here.

I find it odd that the previous poster would post a youtube of Obama misspeaking. Does he really believe that there are no McCain gaffe youtubes posted?

ON the racist charge, it is valid. The belief of the racist is that blacks can't string sentances together with out prompting. Obama is an intellegent person. You may disagree with him but he is smarter then McCain. If fact rather then townhall meetings, I would propose IQ tests for both candidates along with cognition tests. McCain shows many indications of age related cognitive decline. We have walked that soggy path before in the second term of Reagan.

Thankfully the mainstream media's efforts to help Obama are backfiring. The mainstream media doesn't seem to get it that they are not liked and not respected by the vast-majority of Americans. The same holds true for Hollywood actors who are growing ever more rabid in their support for Obama.
But Barack Obama might want to beware of his glamorous high-profile fans.

Recently the loud-mouth Hollywood liberal Sandra Bernhard directed foul, threatening, and deranged remarks towards Gov. Sarah Palin. Bernhard apparently believes that blacks are rapists, Jews own the Old Testament, and pro-life women are female "Uncle Toms."
One cannot begin to fathom the outrage that would ensue were a conservative to make the same suggestion about black Americans.

So where's the outrage over Bernhard's remarks? Where's the furor, the stampede as the politically correct left distances itself from Bernhard? The demands for a retraction, an apology, a platter for her large head?
No, it's perfectly acceptable to make such remarks so long as you're targeting Sarah Palin. Hate-spewing actors have "artistic license" to make racist remarks, to engage in sexist antics, or to spew attacks - as long as they're serving the higher purpose of turning people against McCain-Palin, nothing more is required, not decency, not morality, and certainly not truth.

But, thankfully, it will backfire.
