Ego maniac James Dobson dedicated his hate broadcast today to explain his sudden decision, to go to California this weekend to join Lou Engel, Tony Perkins and others for a massive "The Call" rally of prayer and fasting in the name of saving "traditional marriage."
Listen to the clip and hear Dobson weep to "save" marriage by discriminating against gay people.

How sad to hear Dobson weep over something that simply isn't happening: the destruction of his most deeply-held values as they concern the preciousness of the family unit and love between husband and wife. One day, I hope that people like James Dobson will see that gay and lesbian people consider their families and relationships as sacrosanct as he considers his; as gay people, we become as deeply touched and moved as he does when we think of the souls that we love and adore. Indeed, our love for others and their love for us are what makes life worth living, for both gay and straight.
The day will come when people like James Dobson will recognize their error in thinking that gay people are outside of that human circle...they will see that the sacred worth of family exists in our relationships too.

Chris, I wish I could think positively like you do. I am afraid that the likes of Dobson will never come to the point of allowing the worthiness of our families and relationships, much less their sanctity. Too bad that Dobson and his ilk make so much of this when in Canada, every one is dealing with same sex marriage quite well.

I think probably that relationships are the only thing that make life worth living... money, fame, etc., are poor substitutes for love and the deepest intimacy; these things are indeed sacred. It is so sad that people like James Dobson fail to understand that we experience these sacred connections too...the sacredness of the love of another human soul; the commonality of feeling as though you'd rather die than lose the person you love, the person who enables you to see the very face of the God that Dobson claims to know.
Dr. Dobson is losing so much...losing sight of the universality of love. I actually feel sorry for this man. He does not know that love is SO great and powerful, that of course gays and lesbians experience it as identically as he does, as love transcends the gender of those who love each other. I hope there is healing for this man in some way. His heart can be touched by the truth.

It would be nice if bigots like Dobson could see past their own prejudices, but I, too, am cynical in that regard.
To people such as Dobson, if your life and loves do not match those which he espouses, you do not matter. This is the bottom line with these bigots.
Yes, Richard, when my spouse and I married in Canada last year, they seemed to be dealing with it very well indeed. When we went to get our license, we were treated like any other couple, same-sex or different-sex, would be treated when coming in to deal with a civil matter. Canada is still here, even after legalising same-sex marriage.

I married my husband on the beach in Laguna a month ago. Fantastic!!! We're going to this rally too!! We're going with about 30 of our friends, and we're gonna tear it up. I hope all of us supporters of gay marriage go too, and let these wipes know how we feel about them. Would it be great if we out numbered Dobson's followers? Dobson is a dork!
