And despite the claims of some on the right that Mr. Bush betrayed conservatism, the truth is that he faithfully carried out both his party's divisive tactics -- long before Sarah Palin, Mr. Bush declared that he visited his ranch to "stay in touch with real Americans" -- and its governing philosophy.
Krugman is a good commentator, Olberman and Maddow frequently have him on. He has pretty much reiterated what Thom Hartman said, 'the current economic collapse is the culmination of reaganomics' as well as conservative politics for the past 40 years. I just hope the Democrats can get over their battered wife syndrome and really start fighting back HARD for a change! Cheney pretty much admitted that he committed treason in the Valerie Plame affair, but the Dems will undoubtedly just let him walk.

Anyon who thinks that Obama is going to do anything in the way of making BushCo pay for its crimes against the people is naive at best.

Paul Krugman is a miserable hack; not worth listening to for any reason whatsoever. The fact that he might coincidentally hit the nail on the head once in awhile is meaningless. He is a socialist S.O.B. who only exists to criticize others, when, in fact, the man could never be a success himself. He is definitely NOT worth listening to. What a major pain in the ass.

Krugman is also Nobel peace prize winner. That aside....Chris, I see nothing wrong in being a socialist and I won't hold that against Krugman. Americans need to wake up....we've had socialized programs in this country since Roosevelt. We have medicare, medicaid, social security, police, fire, military, public schools, libraries, supreme court, all funded by the government and taxpayers. If neocons are so against anything that smacks of socialism, well then...let them decline medicare, medicaid and social security for starters and put their money where their mouths are.
As for Obama, don't expect miracles. He's appointed people to run the economy who supported deregulation, as well as advisers who helped dismantle the Glass-Stiegel act that opened the door to deregulation.
Gary, Thom Harman is absolutely right. One interesting comment Thom once made on Air America many months ago was that studies have shown that under successive conservative governmens, anywhere in the world, suicide rates increase. Interesting isn't it?
