I agree with you ewe. I think Keith Olberman is an important ally to our cause. He tells it like it is and does not spare anyone for idiotic or what former Prez Bush would call "fuzzy" thinking.

More people need to watch MSNBC. We need to spread the word. It needs to be known as the liberal/progressive/Democrat friendly network.
One of the reasons that Fox News is so popular because it is known as the conservative right wing Republican network.
We need to support and beef up progressive media!!
If you don't have MSNBC on your basic Cable and Satellite packages then call and complain.

Keith Olberman is a pompous loud-mouth. Hey, what do you think about the APA saying that homosexuality, heterosexuality, etc. is not genetically determined?

Jeff, the APA also states that..."There is no consensus among scientists about the exact reasons that an individual develops a heterosexual, bisexual, gay, or lesbian orientation. Although much research has examined the possible genetic, hormonal, developmental, social, and cultural influences on sexual orientation, no findings have emerged that permit scientists to conclude that sexual orientation is determined by any particular factor or factors. Many think that nature and nurture both play complex roles; MOST PEOPLE EXPERIENCE LITTLE OR "NO SENSE OF CHOICE" ABOUT THEIR SEXUAL ORIENTATION".
From the age of seven, I knew my sexual orientation, I was attracted to boys and later men. My family life was like any other child's, two loving parents, and NO, I didn't have an absentee father or an overbearing mother either. I did everything other boys did and my two brothers by the way, one older, one younger turned out to be straight. I was not raised any differently than they were. In my case, the nurturing factor most definitely was not the factor.
The jury is still out on the possibility of genetics determining sexual orientation. The APA has NOT stated that sexual orientation is NOT genetic either. Research is ongoing.

The nature vs. nurture debate continues to move along. I think it's very interesting for the APA to post the following.... “There is no consensus among scientists about the exact reasons that an individual develops a heterosexual, bisexual, gay or lesbian orientation. Although much research has examined the possible genetic, hormonal, developmental, social, and cultural influences on sexual orientation, no findings have emerged that permit scientists to conclude that sexual orientation is determined by any particular factor or factors. Another thought about Keith Olberman and his brand of sharing the news....
It is interesting to me that people like Carrie Prejean take a stand on principle only for it to later be revealed they’ve behaved in a way that undermines their position. And then the media (e.g. Mr. Olberman) usually reveals seedy revelations. It is kind of fun to watch those that take what they consider to be a morally superior position “fall from grace”. But does hypocrisy necessarily invalidate someones’ position? As you may know a verbal attack on a person, not an attack on their position, is referred to as an Ad hominem (latin for “At the man”) attack.
It is fairly easy to attack your opponent for their hypocritical behavior in light of a position they’ve defended. I have done it. Wayne has done. You have done it. However, the problem with any sort of ad hominen attack is that, effective as it may be at humiliating an opponent, it never really addresses the validity of an issue. But it’s a common theme today. It is easier to discredit a person than their argument.
The next time we hear someone criticised for a position they take, stop to see if the attack is at their position or at the them. Let's go after Carrie's Prejean position rather than her failings as a human being. Heaven help me if people knew what is inside my closet.
