Last week, Truth Wins Out released a video by ex-gay survivor Patrick McAlvey of Lansing, Michigan. He has spoken out on local radio and will join me on Culture Shocks radio with Barry Lynn TODAY at 4PM (ET). I hope you will tune in and listen to the live broadcast on the Internet.
Wayne, I am so sorry I didn't get to hear it, but I am happy that you are out there countering all the craziness and lies that the bigots spew when it comes to LGBT people.

I've heard so many testimonials either from vids like this, or just in the course of socializing, and so many things come to me regarding how unrealistic expectations regarding NATURAL attributes, damage young people.
Hence, anorexia among young women and the pressure to be unnaturally thin. How about plastic surgery that specializes in taking away the epicanthic fold of the eyes for Asians?
Perfectly normal, beautiful even, people will develop terrible rejections of an otherwise healthy aspect of themselves and will go to any extreme, expense or endure a good deal of pain to accomplish it.
The attacks on the healthy esteem of gay young people is no less than that. I don't care WHAT your religion tells you, that doesn't mean it's right or healthy.
Mores the point, shouldn't be a part of public policy. Southern Baptists believe dancing is a sin, and therefore they couldn't demand that dancing be banned.
Organ, blood and tissue transplantation, is against some religious beliefs, but Jehovah's Witnesses would be hard pressed to demand that the rest of us forgo having such intervention.
Autopsy is an abomination and so on...but our society, through education and integration weighed the risk to betterment factor in all these, and religious belief COEXISTS with these aspects of everyday life.
So what's the big, fu*king deal that regardless of one's religious belief, it can't coexist or allow gay people to coexist on equal terms simply as citizens and human beings?
After all, the risks of trying to change gay people FAR outweighs any societal or personal benefit for doing so and therefore should rightfully be abandoned.

I would also put "therapy" in quotes when describing "ex-gay" indoctrination.

chi flat irons are used in professional salons as well as at home. When you think of flat irons, the first thing that comes to mind may be chi hair straightener. However, there are many different styles you can achieve by using a CHI ceramic flat iron and some simple chi hair tools.
