Ah, great. Yet another example of our failing American culture, and on a supposed news program no less. Although, I must wonder...has our great country ever had culture to begin with? :)

I do not know the content and/or frame of reference. Aside from decorum i can only say so fucking what. Big fucking deal. It's just a fucking verb in this case. I am so fucking shocked that Ernie Anastos fucking allowed himself to say such a fucking thing on the air though.

Did Anastos think that he wasn't on the air when he used that expletive? Sue Simmons had a similar incident recently.
Nobody took Dick Cheney to task when he told Sen. Leahy to "fuck off". Where was the outrage and why wasn't he censured?
What galls me is that some channels that aren't network channels censor what some would call offensive language, even stupid benign words such as "shit". Some of the imports from the UK are often censored when shown on American t.v. even talk shows such as the Graham Norton show, but they're not censored in Britain. I'm totally against any form of censorship and we think we really have free speech? We don't. I'd rather someone use foul language than pick up a gun or knife and kill someone.

Robert, our culture is still deeply infected from our puritan past. I can't believe that they still solarize out people's bare bottoms on *regular* tv channels. Anyone who's offended by a bare butt needs to check into a psychiatric unit. When I was in Germany I saw bath soap commercials on tv that showed bare behinds and women's breasts (unfortunately no shvantzes), and of course, there, no one thinks anything of it. If you did that here people's heads would explode. As I've said here before, in some (many?) ways, America is still a very backwards country. Our so called 'health care system' is yet another example.

Gary, you're right. I was in London this past July, what they show on network t.v. there would cause uproar over here, let alone the expletives used. Some of the tabloids show bare breasted women and nobody bats an eyelid. We in America need to grow up and get over it. Religion of course is at the root of all this, as usual.
Have you ever watched that Brit drama series set in a women's jail called "Bad Girls" on the Logo Channel? Openly gay men and women kissing and fondling, and that series was on network tv in the UK and won several awards. If that were shown on network t.v. here they'd take it off the air because of the religious nitwits and wackos complaining. We have a long way to go.

I've seen commercials for Bad Girls but don't watch it. I have Logo and Here!, which 'shows eveything' since it's a premium channel. They have some really good gay movies. My (gay) German friends told me that they think it's strange that such a prudish country like the US still produces some 'of the world's best porn'. I guess neuroses can still create great art--hahaha.

Gary, in the case of Logo, I believe its owned by Viacom which also owns CBS, so doesn't come as any surprise that they censor everything, its so damn annoying though. I too have Heretv, some good stuff for sure.
Yes, it is rather odd that we produce a lot of porn, all that pent up sexual repression. Revealing that in red states, porn is watched more than in blue states, it figures. I dare say a lot of the right wing religious nutjobs indulge in it.

True. I had read some place that a significant amount of internet porn goes into islamic countries (I'm surprised it's not blocked the way China blocks certain things); anyway, I mentioned this to a woman I know from Lebanon and she said, 'yeah, i can believe that'.
